While the news of Eric's death quickly hit the streets, most of us continued to celebrate Christmas as if nothing happened. Police had been at Judah's house since last night and they even asked us a couple of questions to see if we noticed anything
"I can't believe that happened right next door to us" my momma said as she looked out of the window "on Christmas Eve. I could only imagine how his family feels"
I could hear Kentrell mutter something followed by a laugh so I nudged him in his arm
"Well on the bright side, at least it wasn't none of us" I told her and she nodded before walking off to go back down the hall
"You right.. cause if it was one of y'all I'd go around Baton Rouge whopping everybody's ass until I found out who did it"
Once she was gone, Kentrell burst out laughing and I looked at him suspiciously
"Trell...."
"Wassup?" He asked while still laughing and I cocked my head to the side
"You know who did it? Ain't it"
He started grinning and the door opened. Baby joe walked in and Kentrell smiled while standing up, dapping him up
"My muthafuckin brother" Kentrell enthusiastically spoke while baby joe chuckled and my mouth dropped open.
"Joseph! Where were you last night? Everybody came but you" I asked and he slapped me upside my head before sitting beside me
"I was coming but I ended up having some business to handle"
"Business like what?"
"Grown folks business. Mind yours"
I rolled my eyes and Kentrell sat on the other side of me.
"You know..." I started while looking back and forth at the two of them "I know I'm usually right about situations so I'm pretty sure I'm right about this"
"About what?" Baby joe asked and I squinted my eyes at him
"You know exactly what I'm talking about"
"Merry Christmas everybody!" Elena said with a smile as she entered the living room behind her was Dana, who's face was bawled up.
"Here go the grinch" Kentrell mumbled and Dana stopped walking to mug him
"I'm actually in a good mood so shut up you dumb fuck"
"Why your face all bawled up?" I asked her and her eyes traveled over to me
"My face ain't bawled up"
"Uh, yes it is"
"Grinch" Kentrell repeated so she stuck her middle finger up and walked off into the kitchen as the door opened again. Kd walked in along with boomer and Ben behind him
"Merry Christmas to all my kids" Ben yelled out and I could hear Dana talking shit in the kitchen
"Ben" Kentrell called out to him, catching his attention "yo girl in the kitchen with a nasty attitude. Go put a smile on her face"
"You just love torturing my sister. Dontcha?"
Kentrell nodded and I shook my head
"Babymomma!" Ben yelled as he walked into the kitchen and Kentrell laughed
"Boomer Where Makayla at?" I asked and he pointed to the door
"Outside. Ol boy got Micah some shit for Christmas"
"And you left her outside with that psychopath" I asked boomer and he shrugged
"She straight"
"And you damn sure ain't going out there cause I'll have that nigga laying right next to Eric if he say some shit to you"
Baby joe laughed and I rolled my eyes while scratching my stomach. Baby joe got up and dug into his pocket while he headed towards the kitchen
"I'm bout to go smoke in the back. Y'all coming?"
"Shit say nomo" boomer answered as they all got up and Elena looked at me
"You coming?"
"No. I'm good" I answered which made Kentrell, who was still sitting down, look at me.
"NOELLL! GETCHO FRIENDDDD" Dana yelled and Ben ran out of the kitchen laughing
"What did you do to my sister Ben?"
"I told you she want me" he said with a smile while Dana stormed out of the kitchen and Ben moved over some while still laughing
"That black bitch just put his lips on me"
"Oh shit" Kentrell muttered while laughing and I shook my head
"Don't act like you ain't like it" Ben told Dana while and she was about to hit him but he quickly moved away from her
"This nigga right here" boomer laughed
"What y'all doing in here?" My momma asked as she walked down the hall with Kaleb. I smiled and jumped up off the chair, snatching him out of her arms
"Hey aunties baby"
Kaleb laid his head down on my shoulder but instantly picked it up once he saw Kentrell and let off a smile
"Noel look at that. The babies love my boy! Give that man his son and stop playing" Ben told me and I rolled my eyes while Kentrell got up and grabbed Kaleb
"How about you worry about your baby and let me and my boyfriend handle that"
"I been tryina handle that for a year now" Kentrell muttered and I punched his arm
"How about this. Let's go smoke this blunt real quick so I can be in a good mood while I all open these shitty ass gifts Kd said he got me" Elena said with enthusiasm and we all looked at her
"Damn you gone do my boy like that?" Baby joe asked and Kd looked at him
"I told her I got her some breath mints and a good brush"
"Don't play my sister" I told Kd and Kentrell burst out laughing so I mugged him
"What's so funny?"
"K- Nothin man" he quickly changed up and I took kaleb from him
"Yeah yeah. Just shut up and y'all hurry up" I told him and they headed out to the back
