Jake walked me inside and set me down in our usual spot before joining Derek to push the rock in front of the cave entry.
"Hey, are you okay? You and Jake were away for a while," Cam asked as I pulled another sweatshirt over myself like a blanket.
"Yeah I'm okay. Just a bit of a rough start today that's all."
"Well, you can always talk to me if you need," Cam said with a smile.
"Thank you Cam. You can always talk to me too."
"You two sleeping next to each other again?" Derek asked Jake as they found their way back to their spots.
"Yeah. She gets cold," Jake shrugged.
"I don't know how you guys don't," I said, a little embarrassed for being called out.
"Well sometimes I get cold, but Wes won't let me cuddle with him," Nathan whined.
"I don't care if you wanna scoot closer for warmth but don't be like, throwing your legs over me. That's just odd," Wes chuckled.
"Okay, that happened ONE TIME, and I was sleeping!" Nathan defended.
Adam settled in next to Luke before speaking. "I cuddle next to Luke when I'm cold. Isn't that right brother?"
"He does. I'd shove him away, but as his older brother I feel like it's my job to help him out," Luke shrugged.
"See? It's not just us," Jake said with a chuckle as he sat down next to me.
There was a lot of shuffling noises as everyone settled into their spots for the night, and Jake and I laid down.
"Goodnight everyone," Nathan said in a sing-song voice.
"Goodnight," a bunch of us replied back. The temperature continued to drop and I shivered. I really missed being in my own bed with actual blankets. Jake must have felt this, because he grabbed me by the waist and pulled me close so that I was pressed against his body. I shivered again and rolled over into my usual position, burying myself into his warm chest.
"Are you warm enough?" He whispered.
I nodded. "I will be. Thank you."
He continued to rub my back, slow and steady like he usually did until I warmed up and fell asleep.
************
"I said no.."
"Come on Cass I see how you look at me."
"Ew. Trent you're drunk. You're dating Alexa. You don't want me."
"Oh, I want you. And I think you want me too."
"I don't. Please back up... you're scaring me."
"Don't be scared baby."
His lips crash against mine. I can taste the alcohol on his tongue. I try and wrench him away.
"Get off! I said stop. I'm going to bed."
I run into the room and shut my door. Too bad my lock is broken. I change into my pajamas and get into bed. Moments later, the door creeks open. My heart beats in my chest. I turn over just in time to see Trent jump on top of me, and the smell of alcohol assaults my nose.
"Trent get off! What are you doing?"
"Shhhh relax baby." He has my arms pinned under his legs. His hands wander up my body, squeezing my breast's repeatedly as he licks my neck.
"Stop! No! Somebody help me!""Cassie. Cassie wake up!"
I jolted awake to find Jake hovering over me with a concerned expression on his face. Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I struggled to catch my breath. The dream felt so real. I thought about it again and shuddered hard as a new wave of tears fell from my eyes.
