Sienna
It wasn't long before all of us were walking around the garage area. Mason was telling us who was who, even though a lot of them I knew from when Ashton explained everything to me. Eleanor had ahold of my hand, a small backpack on her shoulders. Semi matching with the one I had. Hers had cats on it as mine didn't. Her smile was as bright and wide as I think it could have been.
A lot of the drivers were walking by or being driven in golf carts to their garage stalls, making it cool to be this close to somebody like that. Fans of all of them seemed to be running around trying to get their attention. The air smelled of brake smoke and food, mixing to create a foul odor. Eleanor didn't seem to mind. She loved everything that was going on around her. Her big blue were wide, taking in the amount of people going on around her.
Mason and Sophia had walked to the bathrooms, telling us they'd find us when they were done. I didn't mind telling them we would be in this area when they returned. Or call me in case I wasn't so we could meet back up.
When they were out of eyesight, I looked at Eleanor to see if she had piqued an interest in anything around her.
There were a lot of kids around her that had different things that she took notice of; she even saw a little blonde-haired girl around her age, sitting in the shade and playing with some dolls; her mom was watching her. Eleanor saw the dolls and immediately wanted to play with them. Pointing and pulling on my hand to go over.
"Sweetie, we'll play with your dolls once we get back to the camper." I bent down to talk with her and watched as she nodded her head, giving me a pout while doing so. Once the girl saw dolls, it was usually a tirade to get her off of the subject.
As I was going to stand up, I did not notice that a body was mere inches from me, running by, and collided with them. I had tried my best to not tumble onto Eleanor and gladly missed causing her to fall, but I was not that lucky. My knees hit the concrete first, grinding into the concrete mixed with some rocks, and then my hands. I did not care who it was, I just wanted to make sure my girl was okay.
She beat me to it, though.
Eleanor bent down to sit on the ground with me when I turned over to see how she was doing.
"Mommy, are you okay?" She asked, her eyes starting to tear up. I pulled her close to me, trying to not worry her. The poor girl was probably as scared as I was.
"I'm just fine, baby." It wasn't until I looked down that I noticed how my knees were completely scrapped all to hell. Blood and dirt mixed to look nastier than it was. At least the tattoos would be unharmed by the scraped skin.
"Are you two okay? Do you need help cleaning up?" An urgent voice asked, coming to our aid. It was the woman who was watching her daughter play with the dolls. I placed Eleanor on the ground and got to my feet, trying to wipe away as much blood from my hands and knees so I didn't look so bad.
"I'm okay, I think. Just going to go back to my camper and find something to clean this with." I told her, glancing down as Eleanor started talking to her daughter.
"I can get the first aid kit out of my husband's garage. It's just right over there." She pointed to a spot not even twenty feet away and I noticed what she said. Husband's garage, so he must be a NASCAR driver. I swear, I used to know all of the drivers because of Ashton but the wives and children weren't things that I got to know.
"You don't have to," I said, not knowing what else to say. I didn't want her to have to bother anyone with something so simple as me getting hurt."No, I insist. It's right over here and you won't have to walk far with blood all over you." She said, probably sensing that it could be a bit embarrassing for me.
