"Do not worry Dean," Castiel assured him, seeing how worried hewas but Dean merely shook his head. "You will not be in danger."
Dean shrugged, unbothered about that. "Hey we have to fightmonsters; it's the family business."
"Family business?" Gabriel echoed not understanding how theycould make a business about this. Of course he understood humansenough to know that they didn't mean a literal business but didn'tknow what they meant was their 'business'.
"Saving people and killing things." Sam answered glancing toGabriel quickly before back to Dean and Castiel.
"Well Deano, that might be true but you will be going up againstsomething that you never had gone against before." Gabriel grinnedand glanced to Sam and gave a quick wink, "so why not you just behappy your brother and you have a pair of guardian angels." Hechuckled at that and Dean rolled his eyes at his teasing.
"Guardian angels." Dean snorts shaking his head, "honestly Idon't know why you two bother with us." Dean added, "insistenceon a pure soul and heart of gold aside I'm pretty sure that there areothers you'd like more."
Gabriel took a step in front of Sam, as if to protect him and Castielgrowled. It was him all over again. When he had saved Dean fromperdition Dean had acted...strangely. Not a way that he would think asoul of any kind would take to it.
Sure he had never gripped another soul like that, nor had he everreally talked to any other humans beside the brothers. And even thenSam, though he was a good man and they got along well it was nothingto the bond he had with Dean.
At first Dean hadn't reacted to his pulling him up, he had felt thetight warm grip and being pulled up but gave no reaction. He had seenDean's face, the face and eyes he could read, that it had happened somuch as a torture technique to let him feel hope he would be savedbefore dashing that hope.
When they had gone up further and further from the torture chambersand realized this was real. Instead of feeling happy, excited, grateful anything even just shock, he instead fought with him and itwas then that Castiel realized that he didn't want to be saved.
At first, despite the shock to himself he thought that Dean likedthat. Liked being a torturer. But seeing the fear on his face when heoffered to throw him back into the pit that he realized it wasn'tthat he liked it. It was because Dean thought he deserved it.How Dean could ever think that was beyond him.
"Not another word about that Dean. You and your brother are bothspecial." Castiel looked right into his face, his blue eyes shiningwith power Dean tried to look away but Castiel would have none ofthat. Instead he cupped Dean's face, gently but forcibly moved hisface till his green eyes were staring into his glowing blue eyes.
He kept his eyes there and stared into his eyes they kept it thereuntil finally it seemed that Dean would listen to him. "You areimportant Dean. You are worth saving." He waited before pullingaway, "my apologies for getting so close." He added beforeturning to the older angel. "So how do we do this?" He asked andGabriel chuckled throwing an arm around Sam's shoulders, tugging himdown and against his side.
"It's entirely safe, I wouldn't bother getting in a fight with youif I hurt Deano, and definitely wouldn't dream of hurting Sammyhere." He chuckled before getting serious for a little bit. "Itjust needs some herbs and meditation. It actually is really easywhich is a good thing." Gabriel frowned remembering how he had seenthem do the ritual to Sam. He wouldn't have let them do that to himagain if it meant letting the humans be emotionally dead and in comaslet it.
I hope you guysliked this and how the angels are reacting.
