Lia's POV
Fuck I thought. Fuck me, I cant believe I wanted that kiss. I only had to tilt my head up then his lips would've been on mine. Then my first kiss would've gone to Demon, the president of the Devil's Den MC and I would be perfectly okay with that. Him being around did shit to me I didn't understand. I was a virgin, not wanting to ever give that shit to some low life who would make me feel like shit afterwards. I didn't get that feeling from Demon.
After waking up and brushing Abyss, I got ready for work. I just put her food down when there was a knock on the door. I opened it and saw Demon standing there, looking way to good to be legal. Abyss wound herself around my leg and let out a meow. Demon looked down and smirked, "You got a cat." "More like she came in uninvited and I didn't have the heart to kick her out," I grumbled. He chuckled, then took my hand, leading me outside of the apartment. I locked the door and followed him.
He took me to a diner where there was very few people, and it was quiet. A woman came and gave us menus, "What can I get you to drink?" Her attention was on Demon and he ignored her. "What do you want baby girl," he asked me, prompting me to go first. "Just a coke," I told her. She nodded and scribbled it down, "And you handsome?" "Black coffee," He answered. She then left. "No coffee," he asked me. I shook my head, "I cant stand the stuff." He shook his head in disbelief, "That's not American." I smiled and rolled my eyes, "So sue me." He chuckled, "To much of a hassle. I'd rather fuck you." I smirked, "You would have to conquer what has been impossible for every man who crossed my path, and that's for me to give you the green light." His eyes widened, "You're a virgin?" I nodded, "Believe it or not, I am." Something changed in his eyes. A new kind of fire. It made my heart skip a beat, and I wanted to see what that fire was.
We ate and made small talk after that, getting to know each other, before he took me to work. It was pleasant. This version of him wasn't the man I met when Scorpion was shot, cold and in charge. Nor was he the guy at the bar last night, calculating and always watching. He was laid back and sweet. He didn't comment anymore on my virginity, didn't make crude jokes like guys in the past, nor did he treat me differently. He still gave me the smirks that did weird things to my heart. When he laughed though, it was something I wanted to hear again. It was something I wouldn't mind hearing in the middle of the night as we laid in bed just talking. A laugh I wouldn't mind hearing when out for a smoke. Damn it, what the hell was happening to me?
I shook my head as I went back to checking the inventory. Then Eddie came in, looking like he usually did, like he was part of the Italian mafia even though he was Hispanic. I would've guessed cartel but from the way he cussed about them a few weeks ago I'm gonna safely assume he doesnt like the cartel. "Tina told me you didn't share any money from the tip jar or what some tattooed fuck gave you. Said it was a couple hundred alone," Eddie said accusingly. "Well when the President of the Devil's Den personally wants you to have something, you can't go against that," I told him. He seemed to pale, "The....The Devils were in the bar last night?" I nodded, "Yeah. It was their President, Vp, and third in command. They came in at around six, then stayed till closing."
"Do you know if they will come back," He asked me in a rush, his stance changing to one of glee. I could see the gears calculating how much money he could possibly get from having their business. I shrugged, "No clue."
"You girls need to dress sexier to draw them in," He told me. I gave him a look, "They tipped me three hundred, for dressing this way, I think I'm good." I turned the page on my clipboard, "Plus you might want to keep Tina on a tight leash, you wouldn't want to piss off one of their ladies if she is feeling on a taken man. If his lady doesnt want him there, best believe he'll listen and just drink with her at home, then you'll loose a customer." This bar wasn't their compound, their home. This bar was just a bar and they didn't have to be here.
