From Chase: I just want to talk thats all, I promise
From Chase: Audrey I know you're getting these messages
From Chase: give me 5 minutes of your time please? Thats all I ask
From Audrey: Fine
From Ryan: Just landed, I miss you already
From Audrey: Alright, glad you're safe :) miss you too!
Audrey returned to Chase's text message, seeing he was typing. Audrey patiently awaited his text but ended up waiting for what seemed like ages.
From Chase: Listen, I am so sorry for what happened. I should've told you about Kaylie and I sooner and should not have led you on. I've been so indicisive when it comes to you and Kaylie. You both are so great, I couldn't choose and that was my first mistake. I let her go Audrey, because I want you and only you. I hope you will give me another chance. We have something special.
From Audrey: I've heard these words one too many times Chase. Nothing ever changes with you no matter how much you try to convince me. I'm sorry but I can't.
From Chase: You can't because you don't trust me? Or is it that Ryan is in the picture now?
From Audrey: Yeah, you're right I dont trust you, and what happens in my personal life doesn't concern you at all
From Chase: Audrey we've known each other since we were literally babies. I know everything about you. What does Ryan have that I don't?
From Audrey: Ryan actually cares and shows me it constanly. He treats me like a human being and not some toy that gets tossed around until they're not wanted anymore. He would never hurt anyone.
From Chase: You dont know him at all then if you think he wouldn't hurt anyone.
From Audrey: What is that supposed to mean?
From Chase: Ryan has had two girlfriends before you came along.
From Audrey: So?
From Chase: So all those relationships ended up dying because he cheated every god damn time. I am just looking out for your best interest.
Audrey's eyes scanned the text over and over again. Chase couldn't lie to her about something that extreme. He had nothing to lose telling her this information. Chase knew easily that Audrey could as Ryan and find out the truth. Audrey figured it was true, because why would Chase tell her this if it wasn't true? If he really wanted to make up for everythig, he wouldn't lie about this and have Audrey find out its all false and put himself in a deeper hole.
From Chase: You're not answering because you know I'm not lying. I would never lie to you about this type of shit.
From Audrey: Just leave me alone Chase
Audrey puts her phone to the side, trying on focus back on work. Throughout the course of the day, Audrey's mind was consumed by Chase's words. She didn't know if she believed him or not. Audrey would not put it past Chase to lie about something like this, but at the same time he could've told the truth. Audrey knew nothing about Ryan's personal life.
"What did Chase say?" Madison returned from her last appointment. Audrey slid her phone allowing Madison to read the message. "Talk to Ryan first before you assume anything. I know you're a good judge of character. Plus Ryan seemed to genuinely like you." Madison continued to read the texts. "Speaking of which-"
Madison hands back Audrey's phone. Audrey screen lit up with a new text message from Ryan. Reluctantly, Audrey presses on the message reading it.
From Ryan: I overheard Chase talking about a conversation you guys had earlier today. By the sound of it I need to explain a lot to you.
From Audrey: Yeah, an explanation would be nice...
From Ryan: I'd like to wait until Texas, if that's alright with you. I'd like to do it face to face.
From Audrey: Okay, I'd like that better.
From Ryan: Good, I have to get going to practice. I'll talk to you later.
From Audrey: Okay :) good luck!
