I then felt my heart beginning to beat an abnormal pace, my breathing become choppy, and my chest began to tighten. Before I had a full out panic attack, I slipped my headphones in and turned the volume up all the way, squeezing my eyes shut, clenching my teeth, and trying my best to fall asleep.
Demi's POV
I ran through the house, trying to find Annie. She wasn't anywhere! I woke up without her by my side.
"MOMMY IT HURTS!" I heard Annie scream from downstairs.
I scattered down the stairs, three at a time, trying to get to my daughter. I opened up my mouth to yell, but nothin came out. I screamed and screamed for Annie, but it was as if my voice didn't work anymore.
"MOMMY!" Annie yelped.
I opened up every door, just to see an empty space. I have no idea where my daughters cried are coming from.
Soon, as I was making my way upstairs again, the sobs died down and quietness over took the house.
I opened the last door to the right and then... I saw her.
"HELP! MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY! HELP! IT HURTS!" I jumped up out of bed, my heart racing.
I realized the screams were just from the bad dream I had, so I took one big breath, trying to calm myself down.
"MOMMY! HELP!" Annie sobbed. This isn't a dream.
"Baby!" I yelled, throwing the door open, "I'm coming!"
I ran into the hallway, trying to identify which bunk she was in. The screams and cries for help kept going and going, making my eyes start to water and my head to think the worst.
Finally, I threw the curtain back and saw Annie bawling, kicking and screaming, eyes closed shut.
"Baby," I whispered, pulling her out of the bunk, "baby, it's mommy. It's okay!" I soothed.
Her kicks slowly came to a stop and her screams silenced, but her sobs didn't as she wrapped her arms and legs around me for dear life.
I started to walk towards the living area, when I saw Caroline, Max, Jill, and Holly's heads poking out of their bunks in concern.
I walked past them and shut the door, sitting down on the couch, whispering soothing things to Annie, to calm her down.
"Baby, Mommy's here. It's okay, shh.." I said, running my fingers through her hair.
Soon, her breathing evened out expect for the occasional chops of breaths.
"What happened?" I softly asked.
"It- f-felt s-s-so real." She said, braking my heart.
"I know, baby. It was just a nightmare, you're okay."
Her trembling hands squeezed onto my shirt as I laid down on the couch with her.
She was laying sideways while I was laying flat. Her arm and leg were draped over mine and her head was laying on my shoulder. Her last bit of tears fell and landed on my shirt before she fell back into sleep.
"I love you, princess." I whispered into her hair before I gave her a kiss on the head.
Annie's POV
I woke up this morning in Demi's arms, signaling I wasn't as strong as I thought. I remembered last night. I remember having the worst nightmare that I was in this tight enclosed space and Demi was trying to get me out but she couldn't. I remember how real it felt. I remember holding onto Demi so tight, because reality felt more like a dream than the nightmare did.
