Hours she must have been trying to escape from under the horse, or minutes, she didn't know. The sun was beginning to set and it was growing dark. Little by little, Aris managed to pull her leg inch by inch. The awkward position she was in made it difficult to lift the heavy horse's weight.
The sound of leaves crunching caught her ear, Aris stopped trying to lift the horse and looked around the empty woods. She swallowed nervously half expecting men to come, but instead an animal.
A giant dire wolf with white fur, decorated with golden spots emerged from the woods. Aris cried with relief, "Duchess!" she called. The last she saw her wolf was on the way to Kings Landing before the scuffle between Arya and Joffrey happened and Duchess and Nymeria were sent away, while poor Lady was put down by their father.
The wolf approached her owner, towering over her like a bear. Duchess had grown a considerable amount. The wolf sniffed Aris recognising her and she smiled scratching behind the wolf's ear when suddenly the wolf's head perked up and growled.
Aris followed the wolf's gaze to see a train of men, carts and horses travelling on the road. She sat up quickly and with all her strength she pulled her leg out from under the horse. Before she had the leisure to take her time, now she had to hurry. Her foot was almost free before Duchess turned and jogged towards the men on the road.
"Duchess!" Aris called after her wolf and finally managed to free herself from under the horse. She sighed with relief and rubbed her numb leg and stood on shaky legs. The travelling line was fast approaching but the wolf kept walking.
Aris wanted to follow her wolf, but she couldn't risk being caught. Given the chance they would turn her in for a few scraps of silver. "Duchess!" she whistled but her wolf didn't even stop to look back. Aris grumbled and turned to head into the woods.
Arya sat on the back of one of these carts, staring into the ground as the cart rolled over it. She was so worried about her sisters. The last thing she did was fight was Sansa and run away from Aris. She regretted everything. That was until she heard a name being called a whistle.
Arya looked up to see a familiar giant wolf walking along side, heading in the opposite direction. The men all jumped out of the giant wolf's way as it walked along, all fearing it would attack.
Aris' wolf, she cheered in her mind. The voice that called out... Arya looked over the side of the cart to see a women heading into the trees ahead. "Stop!" Arya screamed scaring the men around her. Arya jumped from the cart and ran at full speed. "Stop!" she called again as she ran along the road as her sister ventured further into the woods. "Wait!" she ran past the leasing cart and Yoren jumped with surprise.
"What are you doing boy?!" he called after Arya as she ran into he woods and was forced to bring the train to the a stop.
"Stop!" Arya yelled again, this time Aris heard and she stopped confused by the familiar voice. Aris turned to see a little boy running towards her, but the boy had the face of Arya and the sword of Arya. "Wait!" cried Arya as she threw herself into Aris causing her to stumble.
"Arya?" she wrapped her arms around her little sister and ran a hand threw her boy short hair. "By the gods you're alright?!"
Arya looked up at the same brown eyes that resembled her own with tears in them."I'm sorry!" she said burying her face in Aris' chest. "I'm sorry I yelled at you and ran away!"
"It's alright." reassured Aris patting her back.
"I'm sorry!"
Aris knelt down to Arya's level and wiped the tears flowing down her cheek. "It's alright." she repeated firmly. "You're alight and that's all that matters... you're hair...?"
