sad generation

          i once knew a group of kids/
smoking nicotine 'till their lungs rot
like flowers/ skating in the streets
with sunkissed skin & sunburnt
faces/ chapped lips & used converse/
dozens of sleepless nights/ numerous sighs/ i wondered why/
these kids never smile/ maybe it's
the honey dew plastered all over
their faces/ maybe that's why they
never talk/ when they do it's just a
simple laugh or an "okay"/
just one
glance at them/ you'd think that
these kids are up to no good/
but
deep inside these kids knew/
that they're just wasting their lives/
