"Travis you must say the truth and only the truth. You are a witness to the crimes of your father. ------ Phelps." A person walks up to Travis with his hands behind his back. "Are you aware of your father's crime against teens like you?" Travis shakes his head looking at the person in the eyes. "Please state what you witnessed your father do the last time you saw him." Travis grabs on to his cross tightly.
"Father walked up to me. He was angry at me for being gay. He started to choke me with my cross necklace that was around my neck. He punched me, kicked me, and tried to cut me. After all of that, he said he had to go to the church. He says that all the time." The person rubs his chin in thought. "How often?" Travis looks at his father who was eyeing him down like fresh meat. "Every day."
The judge looks at the jury who nod their head. The judge lifts up his mallot. "The decision has been made. Mr. Phelps is..." He slams the mallot on the stand. "Guilty!" Mr. Phelps looks at his son. His skin was boiling. "You're dead to me Travis!" The police puts him in cuffs taking him away. "You hear me!" Travis watches his father be dragged away. "Dead!" Travis breathes in taking out his phone calling someone.
"Please come quick. My father's men are gonna be on me." The voice was soothing to Travis's ears. "I'm on my way Travy." Travis smiles melting to the voice. He heads out the building quickly. He spots a van that looks very familiar. A brunette gets out looking around. He then looks at Travis giving him the signal. Travis hurries towards the van getting inside. "The cult will be coming after you soon. We gotta hide you."
A bluenette was in the back with Travis. He was calming down the blonde who was now freaking out. "I don't want to die Sal." Sal shushes him with a peck in the lips before hugging him protectively. "Larry drive faster." The girl protests about this looking at Larry. "Larry don't you dare!" Larry looks at her smirking pressing hard on the gas pedal. "Sorry Ash." Ash holds on tight to her seat looking out the window. The ginger on the other hand was face palming.
"You guys are idiots." Sal looks at the ginger rolling his eyes. "Todd if we were Neil would you say the same thing?" Todd was about to respond, but shut his mouth close. They stop at an abandoned place giving Travis and Ash the creeps. "Sal..." Sal plays with Travis's hair to calm him down. They all exit the van carefully. They enter the abandoned place without being seen.
Well except for larry. He was hiding the van from plain sight. Sal headed to a room alone with Travis. Todd and Ash were putting supplies away. "Travis I want you to have this." He gives the blonde his mask. Just when that happened the scene changed. Travis had the mask around his neck. Tears were falling down Travis's cheeks. Sal was bleeding out in his arms.
"Sal please don't leave me!" Sal wipes away Travis's tears. Travis held onto Sal tight. "Don't worry Travis. Larry will protect you..." Travis felt lost without his guardian angel. Sal kept his hand on Travis's cheek. "I love you Sal! Please!" Sal frowns at this looking Travis in the eyes. "I love you too..." His body goes limp making Travis cry harder. Sal's hand left Travis's cheek.
"Travis we got to go!" Travis gets lifted away from Sal. "No! Let me go! We can't leave him!" Larry frowns continuing to pull Travis away. He couldn't fine Ash and Todd. He believes they are dead too. "Travis he's dead! We can't carry him out of here!" Travis kept fighting against Larry reaching for Sal as tears fell hard down his cheeks. They leave the building which was destroyed.
"We can't leave him..."
Travis wakes up from his little nap. He had his head on Sal's lap. Tears stained his cheeks. A hand was playing with his hair. He looks up at Sal to see a worried face. "Travis... Are you alright?" Travis sits up slowly shaking his head. "Did you have a nightmare?" Travis nods his head hugging Sal tightly. "Care to share?" Travis shook his head feeling tears threaten his eyes. "Well Travis we gotta go. You kinda fell asleep through the whole school day." Travis sighs letting go of Sal. Sal gets up lending Travis a hand. Travis accepts his hand being pulled up.
They walk to Travis's house to collect the blonde's things. They decided that Travis should live with Sal. Travis was gonna be evicted anyways since he couldn't pay the rent. They enter Travis's room collecting the clothes and anything else Travis wanted to keep. Travis stumbles upon a family photo. Sal smiles softly at Travis who was smiling also. "Let's hurry up so we can get some rest." Travis nods his head collecting the last of the things he wanted. Sal escorts Travis out of the house while holding his hand.
They arrive in Sal's apartment talking about the past. Then Sal brang it up. "It's bugging me. I want to know what was your nightmare is about. Only if it's okay with you." Sal's father was watching the news. "Sal..." The news reporter looks at the screen as if they knew Travis was there. "In other news Pat broke out of prison. They say he bribed the guards or even killed them. We just hope he isn't coming for the person he write on the walls. If you're Travis Phelps, please stay safe. This has been channel --- news signing off."
Travis couldn't breathe. He can't believe it. He looks at Sal who looks back at him. Sal hugs him protectively. "I won't let him get you." Travis shakes his head as tears fell down his pale cheeks.
"Don't keep promises you can't keep"
