you were awoken from your sleep to the annoying sound of your phone. your husband groaned beside you as he moved to his side. you sighed wondering what in the world could be so important. the clock beside your bed read 1:20am. grabbing the phone quickly yoou preshed the answer button.
"mom can you please come get me?" your daughter's sobs were heared before you could ever mutter a word.
you sat quickly up in the bed causing your husband to follow your actions. "sweety, is everything okay?" you questioned wondering what the hell he could have done to her.
"mom i just wanna come home, please." you quickly told her you would be there in few minutes. hanging up the phone you quickly got out of the bed and rushed around to find something to wear.
"Shaleigh, what is going on?" Ashton asked looking at you confused.
"macy called me crying, Michael most like sad something to her and she wants to come home. i swear to god ashton being with him was the worst mistake i have ever made." you spoke as you pulled a pair of jeans up your legs.
you hated how you wasted a good two years on michael. he was always never willing to do anything and he was fully jealous of any guy that looked your way. it was aggrivtating. but the best thing that you got out of it was your twelve year old daughter. she thankfully is nothing like him. he ended everything a three months after she was born. delcaring he couldnt handle me anymore. i knew it relied on the responsiblity. but with his absence that is how i was able to meet ashton. i was a little weird dating a guy that your ex claried to be his best mate.
but as you and ashton got serious his and michael's friendship drifted. ashton was the perfect father for macy growing up. they are unseperatable, but as she got older her need to know who her real father was. michael was good with spending an hour or less with her. she wanted more time with him. her eyes were bright with just spending time with him, she loves her father. you stop frantiqually moving around the room to take a breath. you feel ashton place his arms around your waist as his head rest on my shoulder.
"no need to stres, he probably mispoken and she took it the wrong way. everything is okay." you nod knowing he is right, he always is.
you both leave the house, he inists on driving as he knows your nerves are getting the best of you. the ideas of what he could have said to her run through your mind. the only thing that stays prominant is that he laid a hand on her. oh god be with him if he did. as the car pulled into his driveway you rushed out not wanting to waste anytime getting to your daughter who needs you. you move the dorknob knowing he has locked it, fuck. knowing his ideal hiding place you grab the key placed under the flower pot. entering the house you hear his loud demanding voice.
"stop fucking crying! you brought this shit on yourself, you are just like your fucking mother." rushing up the stairs you spoke him. his figures stands over hers as she is huttled in the corner as she cries.
"michael!" he turns to face you as his eyes go wide. the smell of alcohol is strong as he steps closer to you. your daughter scurries up from the floor as she rushes to who you hope is ashton behind you.
"get your fucking hands off my daughter!" michael yells as he tries to step past you. you look over your shoulder to see your daughter holding onto ashton for dear life as she cries. you stop michael before he can move closer to them.
"ashton take her to the car!" you yell making sure he hears you. as the footsteps soon indicate their absence.
"what the fuck is your problem? drinking while our daughter is staying with you and you yelling and screaming at her. this is clearly why you will never see her again." you started to walk away before you felt his hand grip your wrist.
"please shaleigh dont take her from me please. i know of my mistakes, you just dont know how hard it is." His head was hung low as he didnt look up at you.
"michael i am the one that raised her for twelve years, dont come to me about it being hard." your voice was stern.
"its not that, its just.....just....."
"its what?" youre annoyance was high at this point.
"its just hard looking at her and not thinking of you. shaleigh i miss you, i miss us. i drink to dull the pain and the only thing that is keeping us together in some way is macy, just please im begging of you. dont take her away from me. please." tears rolled down his cheek as he looked up at you. for the first time in awhile you actually feel something more then hate for him.
"fine, but you have a lot to make up to her for your episode. and you need to stop drinking michael okay?" your rubbed your thumb against his cheek to catch some of the falling tears. he leans his face into your hand as he closes his eyes. he nods. you removed your hand quickly as he looks to you, his eyes has some hope and you regret so mcuh.
"go ashton is waiting." you nod before rushing out of the house quickly. the idea of being back with him courses through your thoughts. was it the way he stated he missed you or just the fear of removing everything from his that reminds him of you. you take a deep breath before walking to the car were your husband and daughter await.
