After everything that happened, after their classes, the two decided to go and visit Nadia’s Aunt, Andrea again. It had been a long time since last she visited her. Now she had a friend with her. She just hoped that she wouldn’t feel irritated with her. She went and visited her carrying both a bad news about Nadia. Now, they were visiting again carrying news about Nadia’s possible father and sister. She just hoped that it wasn’t a bad news for her. What if she never wanted to know anything about Nadia’s dad anymore! That would be the end of her world! Maybe with the help of Mr. Clinton, they could silence the soul of Nadia! She just hoped that her plan would work. But she was quite sure that it would! It must or else!

Courtney gently knocked at the door. Aunt Andrea then answered it wearing an apron. She might be cooking.

“Courtney! It’s you!” Aunt Andrea greeted her.

“Yeah… It’s me again.” Courtney said happily enough.

Aunt Andrea noticed Daphne. She then began looking at her from head to toe then from toe to head. She examined her clothes which that time, she was wearing her cheerleading uniform.

Courtney noticed the way Aunt Andrea looked at Daphne so before anything else happened, she introduced her to Aunt Andrea.

“Uhm, Aunty, I would like you to meet my friend Daphne.” Courtney introduced.

Daphne curtsied politely, “Good afternoon.” She said.

“We’re here for something.” Courtney demanded.

Aunt Andrea’s warm face changed.

“If it’s about money, sorry, I can’t help you.” She said. She then began closing the door behind but before she could ever completely close it, Courtney said their real intension of coming.

“It’s about Nadia!” Courtney exclaimed.

Aunt Andrea’s face deepened but she had no choice. It was about her niece. She just couldn’t ignore it! She set her head low and with her deep eyes, she looked at them.

“Okay, come in.” she breathed.

Daphne and Courtney then entered the house. They sat at the couch.

“So what about her?” Aunt Andrea asked demandingly.

“Aunty, do you know Nadia’s dad?” Courtney asked at last.

“Well, of course! He used to be my brother-in-law! That irresponsible man! What about him? We never care about him anymore!” Aunt Andrea said coldly.

Daphne’s face reddened but it wasn’t yet the right time for that. They were here to know something and not to fight!

“Okay… I know he has done something wrong to you, especially to Nadia. But I guess we can give you some leads about him.” Courtney demanded.

“Leads about his whereabouts? What for? He even didn’t visited Nadia since then. She grew up without a father!” Aunt Andrea replied.

The two then exchanged glances. They thought that it wasn’t the right idea for them to tell something about Mr. Clinton, besides they weren’t even sure if he was really Nadia’s dad! Well, it was better to be sure!

“Well, we met this policeman and we think he’s Nadia’s father.” Courtney explained.

“So what? And besides, how’d you be sure about it? Any evidences that it was really him?” Aunt Andrea asked.

“Well, we gotta know his name first.” Courtney dared.

“There’s no use of telling… Nadia’s gone… for good.” Aunt Andrea admitted.

“You must! How will we know if we’re right if you won’t tell!” Courtney said as if she wanted to yell angrily!

“Peter Clinton. Happy now?” Aunt Andrea answered coldly.

With that, the two girls exchanged meaningful glances again.

They both became silent.

“What now? What happened to both of you? Was that him?” Aunt Andrea asked.

Daphne took his dad’s picture from her wallet. She then handed it to Courtney.

“Is this him?” Courtney asked eagerly, handing Aunt Andrea the picture.

She then took it and examined it.

“This is him! How did you find him?” Aunt Andrea asked in surprise.

Silence filled the room. Dead and deafening silence filled the entire room. The two didn’t answer; instead, they again, exchanged glances. Glances of fear, shock. “It’s her?” Daphne mumbled.

Courtney nodded in reply. †
