"Cissa where the fuck is your black lipstick?"
"Up your arse!"
"Fuck you!"
"Ladies, please!"
It was the annual Slytherin party that they would always hold on the first day of October and it was safe to say that Maeve's friends had completely lost their mind...as they do every year.
This party was important for Slytherins, it was their one night to properly enjoy themselves, but also the best opportunity for the Slytherin girls to look hot. That's the part they focused on.
The fifth year girls had all gathered in Maeve's dorm room to get ready, which was fine because - including the people already in that dorm - there were only seven fifth year girls in Slytherin. This was because the fifth year Slytherins were very male-dominated, which sucked.
"Maeve, what are you wearing?" Alecto Carrow asked.
"You know what I'm wearing," Maeve said in her bored monotone.
She dragged the angled brush across her lid to get her eyeliner perfect, as she prided herself in the sharp winged eyeliner she could do. After doing both eyes she smiled at herself and applied her trusty red lipstick. For Maeve, makeup was very easy.
"Wait, are you planning on wearing that white dress you have?" Cissa asked nervously.
"Yeah..." Maeve trailed off in suspicion.
"Well the outfit I got is really similar to that one, it would look ridiculous if we both wore the same thing," Cissa squeaked.
"So, you'll pick another outfit?" Maeve asked, her eyes not leaving her reflection as she finished off her make up.
"Well Maeve, I'm already dressed, I was thinking..."
The room was deathly silent, no one told Maeve what to do.
But this was her best friend.
"Remind me to kill you later," Maeve sighed as she got up and looked through her own wardrobe for a different outfit.
"Thank you!" Cissa sang.
"Why don't you wear that red dress you got when we were in hogsmeade last year?" A girl called Thea Parkinson asked.
Maeve nodded slowly in approval, "Not a bad idea."
She found the dress hanging up and took it over to her bed. She untied the robe she was wearing so she was just in her underwear.
"Babe, that tattoo is fucking awesome," Alecto commented.
"I know," Maeve said.
She slipped on the red dress, which still fit her thank Merlin, and turned round to the girls.
"Love it," Cissa clicked her fingers in appreciation, which was a good sign.
"Take a picture?" Maeve asked, taking out her small muggle camera.
"What's that?" Thea asked, "eww, it looks like a muggle camera. Careful Maeve, you might get rabies."
"It is a muggle camera, Maeve said, "look I know we hate muggles, but they have these cameras called polaroid cameras and I just really like how the photos look. That's it. Now someone take this fucking photo, please."
"I will" Cissa squealed, "what do I do?"
"Just press this button," Maeve showed her.
Maeve stood in front of the silky drawn curtains by the window of their dorm room and posed, shortly followed by a click and flash of the camera. She ran over and took the camera from Cissa, taking the photo as it printed out from the camera.
