After Monday, the week seemed to go by pretty slow, but Friday morning eventually came around as Clay Jensen found himself arriving to school with his girlfriend. The two soon exited the boy's car, and grabbed their bookbags from the backseat of the vehicle. Once they both had their things, the blue-eyed boy offered his friend a small, genuine smile as he held his hand out to her. Blushing slightly at the gesture, Hannah took her boyfriend's hand in her own before the duo began walking towards the school entrance together. As they neared the school, the Baker girl couldn't help but feel a bit nervous as she began to notice everyone's eyes on her.
Entering the large white building, both teens couldn't help but smile as all eyes on them looked approving and happy for the couple being together. As they made their way down the hall, the two shared a glance with one another as Clay removed his hand from hers and wrapped his right arm around the girl's shoulders as they continued walking down the hallway together, passing a few of their smiling friends in the process. Feeling content with the moment, Hannah leaned a bit more into her boyfriend's side, feeling the surprisingly soft material of his letterman jacket against her.
Throughout the morning, the blue-eyed boy did as he always does by walking his girlfriend to each one of her classes before sprinting through the school to his own respective classes. Sure, it seemed like it was exhausting, and, truth be told, it was, but the Jensen teen didn't mind it one bit. The 19-year-old kept this up every single day because it always put a smile on Hannah's face whenever he walked her to class, and Clay absolutely loved putting a smile on his girlfriend's face - and if that meant sprinting to his own classes to make it on time afterward, then so be it. Over the last couple of days, though, the Jensen teen's baseball teammates would follow him as he walked Hannah to her classes, and as soon as he turned and took off running to his own classs, the other jocks would start running behind him as they cheered him on. Seeing that the jocks were supportive of him made the Jensen boy smile and feel even more like he was a part of the baseball team.
After lunch, students made their way to the gym where the college fair was being held. This event was an opportunity for students to talk with reps from different colleges about any future plans they had, what they saw themselves doing after school, and where they could possibly go for college after graduating high school. Entering the gym, Clay saw a bunch of tables set up with some red, blue, yellow, and even orange balloons spread out a bit through the gym. Already having his mind set on what he was going to do after high school, the blue-eyed boy walked around the slightly crowded space as he looked around at all the different college selections. Glancing around, the teenager noticed a Harvard rep, and he couldn't help but recall his dad graduating from Harvard and becoming a college professor, himself. Looking around more, the teenager saw how there were some out-of-state college reps here, but there were a couple in-state reps as well.
As he continued walking and just looking around, one table towards the back of the gym caught the boy's attention. Spotting the Liberty High student walking towards the table, the female rep stood up from her chair and offered the boy a kind smile. She then introduced herself as she held out her hand for the boy to shake. After shaking hands, the two quickly started a conversation about life after high school and what the boy was interested in doing. Once Clay explained about wanting to to have a career working with kids, the college rep, Sierra, began talking about a couple of the degree programs that the college offered that could lead to a job around kids. After talking about the degree programs the school had, the conversation moved to grades, and Sierra was beyond impressed when the blue-eyed boy mentioned how well he did in school with his grades being perfect, although the teenager never liked referring to his grades as being perfect, because, let's face it - nobody's perfect.
After some time, the two wrapped up their conversation, and Clay accepted a pamphlet and the rep's card before walking away from the table and looking around a little more. As the boy made his way through the gym, he spotted his girlfriend standing by a table, though she appeared to be a little upset or unsure about something. Placing the pamphlet and card safely into his back pocket, the blue-eyed teen slowly made his way towards the girl, soon stopping beside her and wrapping his arm around her as the rep moved to address another student. "Hey." The 19-year-old said quietly as Hannah turned her gaze up slightly to face him. "Hey, Helmet." She replied, though her tone held slight disappointment in it. "What's up?" The male asked curiously as the pair began walking away from the table. Glancing back over his shoulder briefly, Clay was quick to realize that his girlfriend had been talking to a rep from a college up in New York that the girl had been talking about attending after high school.
