Chapter Thirty Nine

                                    

                                          
Time had passed by in a flash, Talon races past his mother, his laughter floating in the air, Matt running behind him. "I'm gonna get you Talon", he yells, slowing down a bit to give him a headstart. He stops beside Alex, giving her a peck on her cheek. "We should try again", he says, noticing the look on her face, knowing where her mind had wandered. Alex sighs. "I have to tell you something Matt-". 
"Papa come look what I found", Talon shouts. Matt looks over his shoulder. "Talk later okay?" He kisses her forehead, before running off to meet Talon, who found a baby bird. Alex sighs, sitting on the ground, the grass tickling her skin. "Hey baby girl". Alex jumps up, a smile spreading across her lips. "Dad". She hugs Adrian tightly. She kneels beside him. "Hey there Jayden". She strokes his copper colour red hair, kissing his rosy cheek. His blue eyes twinkled with happiness. "I missed you Alex". Jayden hugs her. "I missed you two bud, why don't you and Talon go play okay? We can play video games after". Jayden grins happily, "Your the best sister ever, Mom doesn't let me play video games. I love you Alex". He squeezes her tight, running off to join Talon.
Alex stands up. "Hey Mom", Jessica pulls her in for a hug. "It's nice to see you again". Alex nods. "You go with the boys Adrian, I want to talk to Alex". Adrian nods, walking off. Jess leads her to a bench, where they sat. "Iris told me what happened". Alex sighs. "Don't Mom, don't start please, I've disappointed Matt enough."
"You can't continue this Alex, sooner or later he'll find out. You've hid the truth from him for five years, don't you think he deserves to know?" Alex groans. "He does, but I'm afraid to Mom". Jessica nods. "I know baby". 
"I have to check on Talon", she says getting up, walking away, before Jessica could stop her.

"Mommy?" Alex tucks in Talon in his bed. "Yes baby?" Talon bites his lip in deep thought. "Papa said not to ask, but....when will I be getting a baby brother or sister? Jayden isn't here a lot, so I don't have anyone to play with, and you and Papa, Aunty Adeline, Uncle Xavier, even Grandma and Grandpa are too busy to play with me". She kisses his forehead. "When the times right", she says. "Goodnight, Talon". Talon yawns, his conversation long forgotten. "Goodnight Mommy", she closes the door, leaving the light on. 
Heading downstairs instead of to their bedroom, where she knew Matt was, she poured herself a glass of wine. Taking a sip she leans on the counter, deep in thought, that she didn't realise that someone else was in the room, until she felt him pressed against her. She turns around facing him. Drinking the rest of the wine she sets the glass down. "I was just coming up", she says. Matt nods.
"Talon's asleep", he murmurs, placing kisses up her neck. Alex moans, his fangs grazing her skin. Lifting her up she wraps her legs around his waist. "I love you Alex", he says. The room blurred, before they appeared in the bedroom. He throws her down on the bed, pouncing on her like a wild animal.

Tracing an unknown pattern unto her bare stomach, he kisses her forehead. "I can't wait until your with my child again", he murmurs. "If it's a boy, maybe Tristan and if it's a girl we could name her Athena, what do you think?" Alex sighs. "I think we shouldn't get too excited", she says softly. She could feel his eyes on her but said nothing. "Do you want another baby?" He asks. She goes quiet. She turns away from him, not able to look him in the eye. "I do Matt, I really do, but..." She sits up, getting from under the sheets. "But what?" She shook her head. "I'm going to get a shower", she mumbles. 
Matthew leans against the door. "Talk to me Lexy, I can tell when something's wrong?" Her soft cries made way to his ears. "Lexy?" He asks softly. "If you don't open this door right now I'm gonna kick it down". Seconds passed, as he was about to lift his foot to do so, the door made a soft click, before she pulled it open. He looked her over. "Why are you crying?" He says walking closer. She shook her head.  "I'm sorry Matt", she sobs. Wrapping her in his arms, he leans his chin on her head. "What are you sorry for Lexy?" She cries louder. "I wanted to help, wanted to get you home, I knew it would happen Matt, I knew you'd be angry-". 
"I'm not understanding Lexy, what happened?" Alex wipes her tears, tugging the robe closer. She backs up from him. "I have to tell you something Matt". Matt nods. "What is it?" Alex sighs. "It was when Aurora took you, Talon was just born, and I was desperate, you were gone and I couldn't deal with it, I couldn't breathe, couldn't sleep, my whole world was falling apart without you, and at that point I didn't care about the consequences". She looks away from him. 
"I can't have any kids Matt", she rushes out. Matthew frowns. "What do you mean?" He says. "I had Iris do a blood location spell". His eyes hardened. "I knew what would happen, but I couldn't think about that, I only wanted to get you back". 
Matt grits his teeth. "And you've kept this up for five years huh?" His voice was cold as he spoke, holding back his anger. She reaches out to touch him, and he takes a step back. Hurt in her eyes. She pulls back her hand, not angry for his reaction. "I understand if you're angry-". 
His eyes flashed gold. "I'm not angry, Alex, I'm fucking pissed, we've been trying for years to have another baby, and all this time, you hid this from me?" She allowed him to vent, watching him leave, knowing he'd want time alone. 
Finding herself in Talon's room, he was playing with Jayden. She watches from the doorway. "Having a sister is so cool, Alex is my best friend", Jayden boasts. Talon frowns. "I wish I had a sister too, we could have a lot of fun". 
"What about boys?" Jayden pipes in. Talon frowns. "I hadn't thought about that, I'll beat them up then if they touch her". Jayden nods in agreement. "Awesome, you're gonna call if you need help right?" At this Alex couldn't help but smile. 
Too bad she made a mess of things.
