Sunlight peeked in from every available window and brightened up the roomy space. The dust particles could be seen glimmering as the sun let everybody see them dancing.

Most classrooms had vases full of tulips or any other spring flowers that had already bloomed making studies much more enjoyable.

With sweating palms Jaemin waited nervously for the smaller boy at the lockers.

He had sent Renjun a message to meet him, yet somehow the other always managed to be late or forget about it.

Jaemin had already waited for many minutes, although he figured that the latter might have been busy with math or such, yet still he managed to get worried.

But as soon as the pink haired saw Renjun running to him, his heart lightened.

Out of breath, the chinese asked, leaning onto one of the lockers :

❝so what did you want to tell me?❞

A little embarrassed Jaemin gave a hesitant look before mumbling.

i know i could've told you this on the phone, but can we meet at the small red bridge near the forest at three am?

❝okay? May i ask why?❞

Jaemin looked around. He wasn't ready to say anything to Renjun yet, even if they both have been best friends for god knows how long. To put it simply, he didn't want to mess things up.

❝please, just do. It's important.❞

Renjun saw something in Jaemin's eyes he couldn't explain. Maybe it was saddness or even a glint of hope, the older wasn't sure. He smiled and nodded nonetheless:

❝alright, the bridge, three am. I'll be there.❞

With a promise Jaemin was left alone at his locker. Seeing Renjun smile usually always curves his lips as well, but today was different. Having to watch how Renjun went back to Jeno hurt him more than it should have.

3 am

Even though it was spring, the time after midnight was still quite dark, all the stars were to be seen, reflecting onto the waters of the river. Even some of the grass had a mythical glow to it.

Jaemin was at the bridge, yet there was no sign of Renjun. A little part of him started to get worried that the older had forgotten or maybe even ditched him.

When ten minutes went by, the ache in his heart was clearly noticeable. Jaemin decided to wait nonetheless. It didn't matter to him how long it will take Renjun to get there. As long as he did end up there on the bridge next to Jaemin to hear what the pink haired had to say.

4 am

It hurt.

The mid-spring sun was about to rise. The river's small waves sparkled in the morning light and trees started to have a golden glow.

Yet no sign or Renjun, who would make the scenery breathtaking.

Jaemin could imagine how the older's eyes looked like it had stars in it from the first rays of that day.

6 am

Three hours had gone by from the time they had to meet at and Jaemin's cold body started to understand that the older was not coming.

So Jaemin took his five things and left the bridge.

He was tired. The whole night he had waited for Renjun to tell him how he felt about everything, to have some quality time with him like they once did, but none of that happened and Jaemin really felt as if he had wasted his own time.

The only thing that made up for it all was that it was a Saturday and he could sleep the whole day away.

Jaemin's eyes started to tear up when he reached his house.

Entering his room he layed down on the bed and checked his phone to pass time on Instagram to cheer him up.

As soon as he opened the phone, dozens of calls and messages from Renjun were to be seen.

Jaemin didn't really want to look at them, as he felt that it wasn't necessary, but he couldn't do that to Renjun, so he read every single one.

In a way jaemin felt relieved that Renjun didn't forget that they had to meet, but that he rather stayed over at Jeno's hurt him a lot.

Now Jaemin knew for sure that he had lost Renjun and that he can never tell the older what has been bothering him the past few months.

Dear darlings,

I'm back with another story. The beginning might be a bit angsty, but it will get softer after jaemin talks about his problems with renjun.

And yes, this will be norenmin unlike the other story i wrote, all three will end up together~

I dearly hope you all will enjoy this journey❤

Best wishes,

Mai
