the day three.
― ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ―
Preeta and Karan were sitting on the window seat, she was peacefully resting her head on his chest and he was playing with her brown curly hair and they felt nostalgic. It felt as if they were in their university days. It felt so surreal, it felt like they were in love, yet again and both of them felt it; lying against the foggy glass. But, it felt wrong, too. They weren't supposed to be like this. Karan had hurt her―it felt so wrong to be with him.
Preeta sighed deeply; forming a small misty cloud around her face, in this chilly weather. It was five AM and they are still sitting there; wrapped in each other's arms. It felt like home and they didn't want to come out of this trance, they wanted to stay like this―in each other's arms, despite whatever the consequences are. And this situation, it confused them. Is Preeta fallen in love with Karan, or is it just the nostalgia it was hitting them. That's what the confusion. And that's what the problem is.
Karan was equally confused as Preeta. He wasn't confused whether he was in love with Preeta or not, but whatever Preeta's doing right now―laying her head on his chest―is it called affection or love? He was scared. He didn't want to lose Preeta yet again and now he has an extra to not to lose; Amyra.
Before Preeta could utter, Karan's watch beeped. It was five. And their camp starts at eight. He turned off the watch and looked at the foggy window, beside him. it looked so peaceful and he felt smiling at the warmth and cold, he's having.
"What's the time now, Karan?" Preeta mumbled, yawning. Her eyelids felt heavy, but her thoughts were heavier. She had so much in her brain, which she thought it's going to get exploded.
"It's just five, Preeta," he whispered back and suppressed a yawn, "go back to your room and get some sleep. You can wake up at seven."
Preeta yawned again, "Yeah―I think I'll consider it," she sighed and turned her face towards Karan, "but, why did you actually call me, here?"
Karan smiled at her. "I was bored. And I thought you were, too."
"I was sleeping, you numptie!" She slapped his chest and he yelped.
"Stop hitting me!"
"Stop irritating me!"
And that's how Preeta and Karan came back to their original selves; bickering like an old couple. And that's how they are. Imperfectly perfect.
❁
It was eight AM and every parent and their child were ready for the first day of camp. Amyra and Preeta were ready; finishing their breakfast in the room. Amyra's dressed a dusty pink, jean skirt with a cute white ruffle shirt. She had her waist-long hair into a pony with her favorite pink band. Preeta was ready in her white hoodie with grey sports pant underneath. These both were ready for their day one challenge. Preeta locked the door behind them and these two headed to the lift. Preeta and Amyra headed outside when the lift stood in the ground floor and went outside. They saw the rest of the parents there, along with their kids. Karan and Ayaan were playing rock, paper, and scissor despite how serious and calm the situation is. Preeta rolled her eyes at them.
"Good morning, parents and kids," the head-master said, "Today, we're going to start our day one at this camp. Today's activity is going to be simple―we've to start with simplicity, so yeah―like I was saying, today's activity is volleyball. There will be two matches―one's a children's match and the second one will be of parents. Please be careful and our teachers will guide you, now. Thank you."
Amyra squealed, because volleyball is her favorite sport. Preeta smiled at Amyra and bent on her knees tomatch Amyra's level. "You're excited, right?"
Amyra nodded. "I'm excited, Mum. Volleyball has always been my favorite sport and I think, I can give my best, Mum."
Preeta kissed her forehead, "I know Amyra. I know."
Amyra smiled, before running away to the spot where they started the game. The teams were divided and; Amyra and Ayaan were opponents. They had to fight each other now. Amyra's best friend in school―Sahiba, was on Ayaan's side and Ayaan's best friend, Aahil was on Amyra's side and that's when the trouble in paradise started. Ayaan hates Sahiba and Amyra hates Aahil―but they had to win the game, no matter what. Whatever it takes.
❁
The children's game was over and Amyra's team has won―despite, Amyra and Aahil hitting each other with the ball. Preeta excitedly ran towards Amyra and gave her a big hug. Karan was happy too; of course, his daughter has won the game. But he gave Ayaan a reassuring squeeze and saying;
'You did, amazing my boy!'
Ayaan smiled and sat in his place; sipping guava juice. It was the parents turn now. Again, groups were divided and this time, Preeta and Karan were in the same team. There was this woman there, who was constantly hitting on Karan and Preeta rolled her eyes.
"Don't be jealous, Preeta. I'm all yours." Karan winked and she shuddered. Before she could retort a comment; the whistle was blown and the game started.
The first half of the game went smoothly and it was the last round. And now, the chaos started. When the ball was about to come to Preeta, Karan gave a rough dash to her and he hit the ball back. And now, when the ball returned to Karan―Preeta did the same, resulting the ball to be on the floor and the other team got a point with victory. The other team win the match and both Karan and Preeta yelling at each other.
"It was your fault, Arora!"
"How can it be my fault, when you're the person who started this, Luthra?"
"I didn't start this!"
"Yes, you did!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"Whatever, Preeta." He said and dropped the topic. Ayaan and Amyra looked at their respective elders and shook their heads. It was the time of lunch already―they've been playing the match for like five hours. Preeta sighed and made her way to the lunch area, along with Amyra, Karan and Ayaan trailing behind.
❁
After their lunch had finished, the headmaster asked everyone to go back to their rooms and rest for a while. In the late evening, there is going to be a bonfire for this chilly weather.
The moment both mother and daughter reached their room―Amyra took out her drawing book and started coloring to the drawings. Preeta was as usual busy in her phone, scrolling. After the checking of her mails and coloring of her book―both mother and daughter decided to take a power nap. And of course, a two hour power nap lead to a four hour nap, with calls and messages buzzing her mobile.
