Chapter 23. Mystery

                                    

                                          
Cora woke up to a hand on her forehead, she opened her eyes and looked up and saw Lance by her side.
  "Morning my beautiful Angel!" He kissed her head. She smiled and kissed his cheek. She got up and hugged him tight.
  "Thank you my love." She smiled and started to pick out her clothes. Lance grabbed out the two heart shaped Waffles out of the toaster. As Cora walked out she saw the plate.
  "Here is more of my love and affection!" He gave her the plate. She ate it all down and kissed Lance on the cheek.
 "Thank you my Prince." She smiled back at him. He grabbed her hand and they kissed lip to lip. She wrapped her arms around his waist and started to slowly spin.
  "I love to-" 
"HEY YOU TWO!!! ARE YOU MAKING OUT RIGHT NOW BECAUSE WE NEED HELP!!" Callie shouted for them. They both rubbed there heads and dressed up in there Hero suits.
  "Let's go now." Marie said as they walked to Octo Cayon.
  "We investigated a little bit and the Octarians are planning to release DJ Octavio." Marie told them.
 "And we can't let that happen!" Callie told them.
   "We need you two to go into the Octoling layers." Marie said and pointed to the first one. They both walked and found four Octarians talking to each other. Cora ran up to them and splatted one, Lance came behind and splatted the other three with his Octo brush.
  "N-Nice!" Cora said as they ran to the others. They saw two elite octolings talking with there blasters.
    "Oh well if it isn't the two love birds from the Royal Dance!" The elite octoling grabbed her blaster and started to shot. They both dodged it but barely. The two managed to splat the two and get the stuffed Zapfish.
~Time lapse~
The two headed for the last Octarian layer. There were 23 elite octoling, 5 came at them both and tried to splat them but Lance got splatted. Later Lance lost another life and respawned, the spawn points stopped working..."Damn it this is my last life.....so does Cora...." he said at the respawn point. They tried to get past them but they were respawning over and over again, it was impossible. Luckily they splatted 12 of them and moved on. Lance tried not to worry about Cora and him, they were in trouble when 11 of the 23 came to splat them one last time...Cora was almost dead and so was Lance. He swag at the 11th octoling and splat, they both looked around for the last octoling. 
   "HAHAHAHHAHAH, YOU PATHETIC INKLING AND OCTOLING!!" She laughed at them in the shadows.
  "S-Show yourself coward!" Lance shouted at her. Lance looked and saw a charger ink come out for Cora, she looked and it was to Kate for her to dodge. Lance ran and took the shot instead and also throwing a bomb.
   "AAHHHH!!" The octoling said as she got splatted. Lance dropped to the floor without breathing.
  "N-no.......NO!!!" Cora shouted at tears sheared down her face. She held his body tight and hugged him.
  "D-Don't leave me.......we just got together.....you can't just leave...." she cried to him. "I'll always protect you..." the words ring in Cora's head as he said yesterday. 
  "I love you my Prince...." She said as tears fell onto the ground and she kissed him one last time.
~Time past~
Lance opened his eyes a little and found Cora crying. He sat up and looked at her, she was tearing up the bed sheet and couldn't stop.
   "C-Cora....w-why are you crying?" He asked her. She looked up and saw him wide awake.
 "L-LANCE!!" She cried and hugged him tight.
  "I-I thought you were gone..... I couldn't forgive myself if you died." She wailed at him.
  "I-it's ok my beautiful love.....I will never leave you." He kissed her on the lips, they held it for 10 seconds until the doctor came in.
  "Ummm....I can see your in love." She tried to say calmly. She had a clipboard with little boxes.
  "Are you feeling any pain or anything?" She asked him.
  "N-no just tired." He said to her. She looked at the list.
  "Well seems like your fine to me, you can head home and take a good rest to get your strength back." She said as she walked out. Lance put his cloths back on and walked out with Cora.
  "Don't ever blame yourself my love." He looked at her watery eyes. Lance gave her a kiss and headed to the train to go to Inkopoils Square. As the return to the apartment Lance walked to the entrance of his bedroom.
  "C-can I sleep with you so everything is o-ok!" Cora asked him with shyness.
 "Of course you can Princess." He said as he changed his cloths. She changed to her pajamas and went to bed. She hugged him tight as they slept. "I'm so sorry Lance..." Cora said in her mind while hugging him. Lance hugged her back and slept peacefully with her. "Thank you for being the sunshine in my darkest moments..."
Sorry for making a dramatic scene this chapter I couldn't think of anything.
