Two days after that, at home I received a parcel. It was from him. Usually people feel delighted, happy and pleasured when they receive gifts from someone their relatives, but for some reason, whenever I see anything which belongs to him, I feel guilty, and burdened. Usually I don't even open the parcel, I just check his name and stuff it somewhere in my cupboard. This time I was going to the same thing but then Unnie snatched the parcel from my hands, noticed the name and calmly said, " Aren't you even going to see what inside it? Who is this guy?". I really wasn't in a mood of giving any explanation so I just ignored her. you know the saying that, talk about the devil and the devil appears, I guess he is the devil. At that second, he called. I wasn't receiving but then eventually I had to receive his call. The first thing he asked was that, "Did you receive the package?". I simply said yes. After that his list of questions continued, "Did you like the sweater?Was it your size?Did the color suit you? Do you have allergy to that that material?........" And I just listened, I didn't feel like answering to him. Realizing my silence he asked, "Are you fine? You seem sick." I sighed, "No, It's just that I have a fast and I didn't get enough sleep last night so I am a bit tired." Convincing him was fine, but I must be a fool to convince my heart to believe this...Hearing this he asked me to rest and hung up the call.
Then I called my brother, my mom picked up. My mom was angry at me, as to why don't I call her often. She scolded me for a while, and then told me that my brother Mustafa's, engagement had been fixed with his best friend in the coming month. she continued, "Marium wrap up everything and just comeback before his engagement. Your aunt asks about you everyday. She is pressurizing you father more day by day. Don't you think you have enjoyed enough and that it's time to comeback?". I really wasn't in a good mood since morning and mom was making things worse, "Ma, you guys promised that I can comeback whenever I wanted. I will happily comeback when I am ready to. This is the reason I don't talk to you often, so please don't remind me about this every time we talk. I don't have anymore energy left to argue with anyone else so please just give the phone to Mustafa, I want to talk to him." Ma was a bit disappointed but, after all she is my mom she understands my condition. Mustafa took over and I told, "DO me a favor, buy something nice for Harris and send it to him on behalf of me. Please?!" He agreed to do it as usual but then asked me something, "Why am I the one buying gifts for him, he sends you the gifts, so you buy something for him. Why can't you?". It felt as if my head was about to burst so I snapped, "It's because I don't have time for such things. If you don't want to do it then just go and tell him i don't have time!" Then I hung up.
Later on that day, I continued to have a cranky behavior. I even ignored Shi Jin, and was just quietly working on an assignment. Shi Jin noticed this and asked Mi young about it. Unnie simply said that, "She had a fight with her family, so she is just upset about it.". Shi jin was worried about me. So after a while, he called me into his cabin. I entered, then greeted him. Without saying anything he just started talking or maybe telling lame jokes, "Ms. Maria, do you know how NASA organize's a party?" I was silent, then he answered it himself, "They Planet." and laughed at his own jokes....
His joke continued for a while, and he was the only one laughing...After a few jokes, he said, "You know the sun is jealous of one thing in this world, something more hotter than it..." I was once again silent and then he proudly exclaimed, "Me!"

For the first time on his lame jokes, I actually laughed. Not on the joke, but the way he said , "Me!". He saw me laughing and smiled back.

He then admired me, "You should smile and laugh often, because you look exceptionally beautiful when you laugh, and when you smile I cant resit smiling either....". For a second I blushed, then thanked him for making me laugh then moved out of his office......
