Snape's life has never been particularly pleasant, but now with his old master the Dark Lord back it became a stage worse than it already was. Losing Lily to the person he hated most James Potter, was bad enough and then he passes information to Voldemort which lead to her death. He pleaded with him but not matter what he said she was still killed. He was then left to protect her child, and that was torture to him. Dumbledore had said that he had his mother's eyes, and they were exactly the same. The same shade of green and the same upturned eyes. Apart from that he was so like his father, excelling in Quidditch, and getting in trouble. Snape smirked as he thought of all the times Potter spent in detention with Black. He'd always considered then stupid (even though they got enough Outstanding's to become Aurors), but even he must admit, becoming an Animagus at 15 was pretty impressive. He had never wanted any of this to happen, especially the death of his hero Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
                          
" What were they thinking when they named him," Snape jokingly thought.
                          
As Snape was about to put another memory into the pensieve his door burst open and the Carrows walked in. 
                          
" We found Longbottom, Weasley and that Lovegood girl stunned outside the filthy halfbreed's hut." Spat Alecto.
                          
" Now now, Alecto no need to spit, the house elves just cleaned my study," drawled Snape.
                          
" Just get them to clean it again, anyways isn't the Malfoy's house elf here?" Asked Amycus. 
                          
" Yeah he is It's starts with a D Dotty I think. " Replied Alecto.
                          
"If you're here to discuss house elves then get out." Drawled Snape while opening the door with a lazy flick of the wand.
                          
" Oh right, anyways the Dark Lord has asked us to place extra Dementors in Hogsmead, thinks the Potter boy will come her." Amycus defiantly answered.
                          
" Except why the bloody heck would he come here, he's probably hiding like a coward too scared to come out." Mocked Alecto.
                          
" Are you saying the Dark Lord is wrong?" Questioned Snape
                          
" No, no, no of course not, us unlike you actually searched for him in the beginning." Alecto hurriedly replied.
                          
" Good because I last heard the Dark Lord isn't very happy with you, let Potter get away you did." Growled Snape. 
                          
The twins seemed to shrink and decided to continue this chat tomorrow morning, because they hurriedly said something about mudbloods then dashed out of the room. 
                          
Snape sunk deeply into his armchair and stared up at the ceiling and thought of nothing, nothing at all. It reminded him of when he was just a mere fourth year when he read something about Legilimency and decided he didn't want someone to break into his mind. So he then practiced Occlumency, it was a lot harder to practice when no one's breaking into your mind. He usually practiced clearing his mind when ever he remembered so when he was studying in the Library he wouldn't hear Irma Prince (the librarian)  yelling at him to get out because it was getting late. One day during Defense against the Dark Arts the professor introduced them to Legilemency and decided to see who could block out their mind. Snape was excited, unlike the other students who were quivering in their seats. He called out their name in roll order and as Severus's name started with S he'll be one of the last to be tested. While sitting there waiting Potter shouted at me.
                          
" Hey Snivellus, nows the time to tell us why you wear your mum's blouses." 
                          
" Shove off, I bet you'll be the one begging him to not breach your mind, of course he'll have no trouble doing so as you have such a big head." Snape retorted.
                          
" Yeah right, Peter and I'll be sitting here listening to him repeat all your darkest secrets." Potter replied while sniggering.
                          
At this Snape actually started to feel nervous. 
                          
"what if I can't do Occlumency, what if he reveals to everyone about my huge crush on Lily." Snape thought. 
                          
" No I can do it, I just need to block out my mind and think of nothing, no don't tense up you've got to relax." He instructed himself.
                          
At this he straightened up and while doing so someone called, " Snape, Severus in here please."
                          
" We'll be listening." Potter shouted as Snape entered the office.
                          
The room, was dark except for a single corner where the half curtained window showered small bits of light here and there. 
                          
" Wand at the ready, if you need a bit more space, don't hesitate to defend yourself." " Remember the key is to block your mind of all thoughts, you understand? He asked.
                          
" Oh ehh yeah I think so." Snape hastily replied.
                          
" Ok good  1, 2, 3, Legilimens!" He shouted.
                          
At first his parents swam to the surface then the park, he knew what was going to happen so he blocked his mind and tried furiously, to not think of the park. As soon as he did this the images became blurrier until you couldn't work out what was light and what was dark. Suddenly, he was back in the office with a bewildered expression on both his and the professors face.
                          
" That was amazing no student I've ever taught has managed to block their mind as well as you." " Here have a treat," He said while handing over a box of the finest honeydukes chocolate Snape has ever seen." 
                          
" Wow thank you sir." Snape replied while greedily snatching the box of chocolate up.
                          
Snape hurriedly left the office through the other door, as the one he had come through was already being opened and someone was already walking in. He couldn't believe it him, Severus Snape had mastered Occlumency all by himself. He was so shocked he soon found himself not walking towards the Slytherin common room like he thought he was but near the forbidden forest where a Doe was running around. Except this was no normal Doe it was a Patronus, he's always wanted to make one but he couldn't think of anything happy. Before he knew it he was already walking towards the Doe cast bu Lily Evans.
                          
" Oh hello." Shouted a shocked Lily." What've you got there?"
                          
" Oh this," Snape replied while pointing to the box." I got this from Defense against the Dark Arts blocked my mind, he said and gave me this."
                          
" Can I have one?" Lily hopefully asked.
                          
" Sure why not!" Snape answered.
                          
Snape then shared his Chocolate with Lily, and Lily then decided to teach Severus how to cast a Patronus Charm. 
                          
" Okay so you've got to think of something happy and powerful, then say Expecto Patronum." Lily gently earged.
                          
Snape closed his eyes and thought of the first time he met Lily.
                          
" Expecto Patronum!" He shouted. Wispy, silver vapor poured out of the tip of his wand. For the first attempt it was pretty good. He tried again many more times and each time he got better except he just couldn't produce the full patronus. It was always wispy silver vapor, once it made a shield, and once it made a four legged creature. Neither of them knew for sure on what it was, but Snape was pretty sure, it was a Doe just like Lily's.
