Parker POV
"what were you dreaming about that day at my house?" I ask
She takes a deep breath as she starts explaining
"My mothers death was really hard on my dad" she starts "after my mom died he started always getting drunk." She says "one night he came home drunk like usual. he was mad at me and he said 'I wish you died instead of your mother' out of anger I said 'I do too' I usually was able to contain my anger, but not this time." She explains " he then turned and threw the glass bottle he had in his hand at my head. the neighbors ended up hearing all the screaming and called the cops , I got rushed to the hospital and he ended up in jail. I sometimes dream of that same night and it feels so real Every time"
"Omg Shelby" I says "how long did you have to live with him"
"About year" She says
"I'm so sorry" I say hugging her as Meghan and Liam walk back in the house, Shelby and I both realize how long we've been talking.
"Is this a bad time or...." Liam says as he walks in
"A little bit" I say "but it's ruined now"
"Well sorry" Liam says
"How was your date" Shelby asks them
"Pretty great" Meghan answers as her phone buzzes
"Oh my moms here Shelby we gotta go" Meghan says
"Ok bye" Shelby says as she hugs me and leaves
"Ok what were you guys talking about before we interrupted" Liam asks
"Remember That day when she was at our house sleeping and had a nightmare then left" I say
"Yea"
"She told me what it was about"
"What was it about" Liam asks
I explain the whole thing to Liam exactly how Shelby did
"Wow" he said
"I know no wonder she has trouble trusting people" I say
"That's terrible on top of her mom dying she had to live with that monster" Liam says
"I know" I say "I feel so bad for her"
"you know what let's lighten the mood I'm going to force you to watch Pokémon with me" Liam says
"Oh fine" I say
I ended up falling asleep but of course liam finished the whole thing.
In the morning I wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs.
I walk into the kitchen to see my brothers and my sister all sitting around the table eating breakfast.
"Good morning" my mom says as she hands me a plate of food
"Thanks" I say as I go sit down at the table
"So what do you boys have planned for today" my mom asks
"Meagan and Shelby are coming over today so me and Parker are gonna hang out with them" Liam says
"cool" she says "what about you Zach"
"I'm going over to the wills house to hang"
we all finish eating and I help clean up
"I'm your favorite child right" I say to my mom after I finish cleaning
"I can't say that cause I don't want to start another war in this household" she says as there's a knock at the door
"That's Shelby's" I yell as I run to go open the door
I open the door to only see Meghan standing on the other side
"Where's Shelby" I ask
"Her aunt picked her up earlier" she says
"Oh"
"But i do need to talk to you about Shelby"
"ok" I say confused "Come In"
"Liam" I call
Liam comes down stares
"Where's Shelby" he asks
"She's with her aunt do you want to join our group to help Shelby tomorrow" she asks
"Wait why are we helping Shelby is there something wrong with her" I ask concerned
"No I'll explain in a little" she says "so liam what do you say"
"Sure why not" he says as he joins us
"ok so tomorrow" she starts "is the anniversary of Shelby's moms death. Every year I try to make her happy on this day but I always fail" she says "so you guys are gonna help me"
"How are we gonna do that" I ask
"idk but we gonna is try" she says
