Chapter 13. Splatfest

                                    

                                          
Ok so you might know the Splatfest Knights V.S Wizards and it ended on Saturday March, 16th. I picked team Wizards but I wish you the best of luck! And the results aren't in.....so yea XD.
And that picture was a live picture when I was playing Splatfest with my friends I hope you enjoy this chapter! (2019 message)
04/11/23 Rewrite 
 Lance was sleeping peacefully taking an afternoon nap, until Cora can run his room. "Awwww who knew any octoling sleeping would look so cute!" She said to herself, it took her a moment of realization of what she said. Blushing a bit while walking over to his bed, Cora nudged him over to wake him up. 
   But instead he mumbled something and grabbed Cora, hugging her waist leaving her froze his bed. Cora tried to hold her breath as her face was all red, "Gah! Why does he have to look so adorable." She curses to herself, not wanting to wake the poor thing.
    "Mmmm....5 more minutes...." he mumbled in his sleep while snuggling more against her. She couldn't help but cherish this moment, Lance was showing some vulnerability and it created a warm fire in her chest.
  "Come on Lance." She giggled, flicking him in the forehead rolling her eyes. Lance flinched causing him to open his eyes from his sleep and found himself hugging Cora's waist. He just stared as his face turned blank. "Huh." he said in his mind, looking up at her while she smiled at him. 
 "If you wanted to cuddle with someone, don't be afraid to ask!" Cora offered, as Lance covered his face from the heat of embarrassment. The feeling seems to be welcomed home inside of him. "W-Well I was trying to wake you up but you grabbed and wouldn't budge. I almost felt bad." She smiled at him with the dorkiest smile, He stared at her with a red face.
      "Y-Your face is red!" She exclaimed to him, trying to hold his laughter.
 "Wahh! I'm so sorry!" he cried out in apology, dragging his words out from the embarrassing moment. Cora didn't mind too much, it was only natural for someone to crave physical attention.
    "Why don't you get dressed for splatfest, it starts at 6:00 P.M today! I'll be waiting for you at the door." she told him, Lance nodded as she walked out.
    "Why the hell did I do that..." He moaned to himself, staring at his hands. But to be honest, he really did enjoy it. He got up and grabbed his "Team Wizards" Tee, and jogged towards the door putting on his Neo octoling boots. "Let's go magician!" Cora announces getting a laugh from the octoling. "Ok Knight and shining army!" He threw back at her, walking towards the train station to Inkopolis Square.

  "Are you excited Lance!" She asked him with a smile. While most inklings gather around with their splatfest shirts on and banners.
     "I'm more than excited! I've never experienced something like this!" He smiled back at her, as they saw the count down on the screen for the whole of Inkopoils Square. Cora held Lance's hand as they waited for the count down, Lance looked around he saw Agent 4 which was Daniel.
    "Hey Daniel!" Lance shouted out to him as he waved, walking over to the two with a smile.
   "So how have you been you two! Are you a couple now?" He smirked as he looked at them holding hands. While getting elbowed in the arm by Cora, who wasn't amused by the question.
    "Daniel I next time, I will punch you in the face." Cora threaten him. "Nooo not my beautiful face!" He dramaticly gasped and shoved his hand in front of Cora. Quite the actor.
  "So what side did you pick?" Cora asked him.
  "Oh I picked Team Wizards, duh." He told her, Lance have him a thumbs with the two being on the same side.
     "Hey Lance and Cora!" Wafflez came running to them.
   "So who is this?" Wafflez asked with Flynn by her side.
 "This is a friend of ours, his name is Daniel!" Lance told the two.
    "I'm team Knights!" Flynn told the four.
  "And I'm team Wizards!" Wafflez told them.
    "Well looks like me and Flynn will be Team Knights. Lance, Daniel, and Wafflez will be team Wizards." Cora explained to them all. The count down went to 5......4......3......2......1! The whole of Inkopoils Square shouted.
  "HEY YALL YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS!" Pearl shouted to the crowd.
  "ITS INKOPOILS NEWS COMING AT YOU LIVE FROM INKOPOILS SQUARE!!" Everyone shouted. Then it started  show all the stages that they will be playing for Splatfest. 
   Marina and Pearl started the music as they played it, everyone started to dance with passion and excitement for the music the duo created together. As they started to sing Cora held Lance's hand as they danced together getting the perfect view of the stage. 
  Lance looked at Cora and started to smile at her as they danced, Wafflez and Flynn started to cheer for them as they danced along with the music. "This is the best day of my life!" He exclaimed to himself looking at Cora. 
  As they stopped and got off the five headed to Turf War to get their ranks up. They entered in and their whole team was Knights/Wizard Fan. The first Splatfest match began, the stage was Shifty Sation. Wafflez started to use here brush on the right side and already had her special charged up. With her brush speed, she'll be in the center in no time! Another inkling smiled at Lance while they were inking up the left side with a roller, Daniel had a Raid blaster and Lance had his Splash-o-matic, as he rushed to the middle he saw Cora running to the middle and trying to splat him. 
  With a smile determined at him, He got stuck in the opposite team ink and couldn't move. As he tried to Cora was about to splat him but Wafflez super jumped to him. "What are you doing!? Your going to get splatted!" He told himself as she came, but when she was in mid air and used her special and she went faster down to the ground as she used her special. When he looked he saw Cora's squid form floating in the air.
    "N-Nice splat!" He told Wafflez.
 "That's my strategy! People are so clueless when some people Super jump." She told him, he painted the floor and felt something move behind him. It was Daniel! Lance tried to get away but got splatted with his Rapid Blaster. As there was a minute on the clock, Lance charged up his special as he saw an inkling with a N-Zap trying to splat him. He hit the inkling back with his Ink Jet and splatted another inkling with a Splattershot Jr. 
  The time ran out and Wizards team won the first match. "I can't believe it we won!" Lance thought, the two other inkling shook hands with Lance for a great match.

  "Splatfest was so much fun!" Cora told Lance as she waved goodbye to her friends.
   "Yeah it was amazing!" He smiled at her, they played Splatfest until Lance & Cora both to Rulers. They walked to the apartment with smiles on there faces, taking off their shoes before stepping into the house. They faced each other with tired looks on their faces completely exhausted, Lance looked at her with a slight blush. "Should I ask her about earlier?" He started to blush madly with the thought he had. "No no no! Give it some time!"
    "You ok Lance? Cora asked him, he nodded his head and went back to his bedroom. 
He changed his clothes to his Pajamas and went to sleep. 
  "What is something warm yet so soft be as a feeling?"
