It was the morning of the second task and by the time I woke up, I knew Hermione would be having her spell put on her. I was immediately nervous.

Blaise saw me walking round with my worried expression and he put an arm round me.

"Mate, it's ok. Dumbledore won't let anything happen to the people underwater," he tried reassuring me.

"Yeah mate. I know you'll not be satisfied until you have gotten your Gryffindor Princess or whatever out of the water, but you gotta trust yourself," Theo added.

Pansy swished her way into the common room, Goyle on her arm.

"Get off Goyle," she commanded, shaking him off, glancing at him, a repulsed expression upon her normally pretty features.

He looked at her with a rejected, disgruntled face but walked off.

"Ugh. He won't stop trying to get with me. It's pretty annoying actually. I actually had to threaten him with a hex and he still wouldn't get off me!" She complained.

She looked at my solemn face and sat beside me, albeit on Theo's knee.

Theo sat back so she was more comfortable and she nestled on top of him cozily before turning to me.

"Draco. I know you must be panicking right now. I know you won't be happy 'till she's out of that lake. You have to relax and stay calm and focused otherwise you won't do your best and I know you want the best for the ones you love," she said motivationally, locking her own electric blue eyes with my grey ones.

I knew there was a lot of truth in what she was saying. I just wanted what was best for Hermione and I knew I had to be top of my game to rescue her. All I cared about was her wellbeing and I knew that I had to try my best for her. Her life was technically on the line so I had to make her words from the night before mean something.

"Thanks you lot. I really needed that. I didn't know if I could do it, but that's given me confidence," I thanked.

"No problem. Also, do you reckon Harry will faint when he sees that hickey you left on her?" Pansy asked with a mischievous glimmer in her eyes.

"Lord Pansy, how do you know about that?" I asked her, panicking.

"I saw you sucking her neck like a Hoover," she said matter of factly, causing Blaise and Theo to burst out laughing.

"Hoover?" I asked.

"Muggle thing," she replied.

"He probably will but it'll be funny," I responded.

I was still on edge inwardly.

I waited impatiently for the task to begin and Harry tried reassuring me, though I could see how nervous he was.

"Don't worry Harry. I hope you win this task. Good luck," I said kindly.

"Thanks mate, you too," he replied, getting some plant out of his pocket that I recognised to be Gillyweed.

I went to the space where the champions were and stripped to my trunks.

I saw several girls swoon over my physique but paid them no attention. I only had eyes for one girl.

"Draco. Remember. Calm," Lavender said into my ear.

I nodded at her and focused on the dive into the Black Lake.

I jumped in and braced myself for the freezing cold and cast the bubblehead charm like Diggory had.

I swam into the murky depths of the lake and saw Fleur Delacour get hit by a Grindylow.

I helped her move away and tugged her so she wouldn't sustain more injuries.

I shot up red sparks with her wand so that someone could rescue her and carried on going.

I swam and caught up with Harry.

We got there first and saw the loved ones eerily floating and my instinct made me go straight for Hermione, as did Harry.

"Don't worry, I'll get Hermione. You get Ron. I think we can only get one," I explained.

Harry nodded at me and I cast the relashio spell so that I could grab Hermione.

Krum came forwards and startled me slightly but I told him to get Fleur's sister because I explained about Fleur and the Grindylows.

Harry was swimming off at this point and Krum grabbed the little girl and swam off with her.

I assumed Diggory had gotten Chang already.

I swam as fast as I could to the top of the lake but saw Harry get stuck with the merpeople and I knew we only had one hour so it was risky but I shot spells at the merpeople so Harry could get up.

I hauled Hermione to the top of the lake and when we got out, my charm wore off and she was gasping.

She wasn't a good swimmer, so I held her tightly and glided along with her slowly until we managed to get out of the water.

My first priority was getting Hermione warm and dry again.

I rushed to get a blanket, shivering.

I got several and put about five on Hermione and one over myself.

We saw Harry plunge out of the water.

She went over to Harry quickly and kissed the top of his head.

"Well done Harry! I'm so glad you're doing ok! Oh my goodness!" She said in a rush, putting a blanket on him.

She came back to me and hugged me hard.

"Thanks for saving me. Draco, I love you," she said.

"I love you too," I replied.

I bundled her tight with blankets and put one over her head and rubbed her hair. It immediately went bushy.

"Draco!" She whined.

"We have to get you dry!" I said urgently and pulled her towards the castle.

I wasted no time in taking her to her dorm room and getting her hairdryer out and a brush.

I styled her hair so it lay in its usual gorgeous soft curls and I gently removed her jumper.

I began to unbutton the blouse she was wearing and removed her skirt.

"Draco, can you get me some fluffy pyjamas?" She asked.

I obliged and she had her blouse and tights off and she stood in front of me in her bra and knickers, but she was faced the other way.

I handed her the pyjamas and she got in them quickly and turned around.

We sat on her bed and we cuddled under the covers for a long time.

I kissed her cheek.

"Hermione? You're not cold or anything? Are you ok? Do you have a cold?" I asked.

"I'm fine Draco, just relieved and happy now. Don't worry. I'm so happy you rescued me!" She replied with a small laugh.

"I'm happy you're back," I said.

"Me too."
