Parker POV
Shelby's aunt drops me off back at my house and I walk in to see my brothers playing Minecraft
"Sup parks" graser says as I walk in the house
"hi" I say
"What's up bro you seem down" liam says looking up from the game for the first time
As he says that my mother walks in the room
"hey Parker where were you" my mom asks
"I was at the hospital with Shelby" I say
"is she ok did something happen" Liam asks in a concerned voice
"We went for a walk the she just collapsed and said her chest was hurting so I carried her to her house and we had to call the ambulance and stuff" Parker says
"Did they find out what was wrong with her" my mom asks
"Um the cancer spread to her lungs" Parker says as a tear falls down his cheek
"Oh honey" my mom says as she hugs me "shes gonna be fine"
"I hope so" Parker says
"Now all of you come eat dinner"
We all sit down at the table
"Parker" Caitlyn says from across the table "where's the pretty girl you brought over that one day"
"Shelby you mean" I asks
Caitlyn nods
"Oh she had to go home"
after they finish eating dinner I played Minecraft with my brothers for a bit then I went up to bed to try to get some sleep 'at least I get to see Shelby tomorrow at school' I think to myself
The next morning I walk with my brothers to school
"Is Shelby coming to school today" Liam asks
"She should be but she has a radiotherapy session today so not til later" I say
"That's good news then" Liam's says
"Yea I guess"
We all go our separate ways and go to class. I had math first which made me think of Shelby.
It was lunch and I go to our usual table where I see Meghan already there talking to Liam
"Hey" I say as I sit down
"Hey Parker do you know if Shelby's here she hasn't been answering my calls"
"she had a radiotherapy session today she didn't tell you what happened yesterday"
"No" Meghan exclaims "what happened" she asks concerned
I explain the whole story to Meghan
"Why do you think she didn't tell me" Meghan asks
"She probably didn't want you to worry"
"But she knows I'm always gonna worry" Meghan says
"she probably would have told you eventually this only just happened"
" true" Meghan says nodding her head "anyways thanks for being there for her"
"No problem"
"Why were you guys even walking was Shelby supposed to be resting" Meghan asks
"Well that's partly my fault I asked her about her mother and she took me to the cemetery and told me about her"
"She told her about her mother" Meghan says shocked
"Why does everyone seem so shocked when I tell t
They that" Parker asks confused
"Well Shelby doesn't really let people in her life due to trust issues I'm the only one who knows every thing about Shelby" she says
"So your saying there still stuff I don't know about Shelby" asks
Meghan nods "she'll tell you eventually if she trusts you just don't try to force it out of her you won't win she's the stubbornness person you'll ever meet"
after lunch I went to class I didn't really pay attention at all in class I kept thinking about what Meghan told me I honestly thought I knew everything about Shelby looks like I was wrong
After school I look at my phone to see a text from Shelby
"Sorry i was to exhausted to come to school"
I text back "no worries do you want to come over if your not to tired"
"Sure I'll be over In 15 minutes" she texts back
