Quiet a time passed. When Ash opened his eyes, orange and yellow streaks start to paint the sky. The sun also started to hide behind the mountains and darkness start to consume everything little by little.
Ash shifts his eyes to Eiji who also fell asleep and is still asleep. Ash can't help but slightly laugh at Eiji's sleeping face.
He looks so innocent and safe when asleep. He compliments, thinking about Eiji's nagging motherlike character when he's awake.
"Eiji." He gently whispers and lightly shakes Eiji's shoulders in attempt to wake him. "Eiji." He tries again but still no response.
Just leave him.
Ash seems to agree with the evil thought.
But it's starting to get cold. He'll catch a cold if you don't bring him inside.
Ash grunts out loud when he reluctantly accepts the threat of the second voice. He doesn't really want to be held responsible nor to watch over a sick person just in case conscience starts to attack later.
Bringing Eiji up in his arms, Ash heads straight to Eiji's room.
"You're one heavy guy." He mutters between his exhausted breaths.
Yut Lung who is walking down the corridors caught glimpse of the Ash and knowing his destination, he turns on his heels and goes to the same way.
"Eiji seems so tired. What did you two do?"
Ash clicks his tongue in annoyance and seeths, "Shut up."
Yut Lung just smiles to himself and took the good deed of opening the door for Ash to go through.
Ash gently places Eiji down the bed. Upon feeling the new comfort of the soft surface, Eiji squirms on the bed like a child and falls even deeper asleep. He curls himself up to a ball, tightly embracing a huge pillow between his legs.
So cute.
Self, did you just think of that?
Ash shakes his head. He takes off Eiji's thick jacket and pulls up the blanket over his body as a perfect replacement.
Ash stays standing, silently observing Eiji. An odd feeling of contenment, warmth and sense of peace bubbles inside him but as much as he wants to indulge himself to the addicting feelings, he can't. Getting too attached onto something has never been in his vocabularies for the reason he doesn't allows it. Ash had learned that he isn't allowed to value something. Unless he wants it to get destroyed. That's why he doesn't particularly values his life because being dead or alive doesn't really propose to him a big difference. If he dies, then he dies and goes to hell. If he doesn't, then he continues to face the living hell.
"So how did your research go?" Yut Lung's question drags Ash back to reality and for once Ash feels grateful to him.
Yut Lung waits for a reply but he is only given silence. "Then I'll take your silence as the answer I expected to hear."
Yut Lung slips his hand in one of his pockets and fishes out a stick of cigarette. "I guess the lynx also has limits." He ignites the tip and then brings it to his mouth.
"It even took me to a lot of time to find out anything about the bastard." Yut Lung now sounds irritated as his mind goes back to the night he was held by another man.
