Thinking that Demi was laughing at him, Nick felt a little embarassed. He lowered his hands, opened his eyes, and looked at Demi. “What’s so funny?” He asked.

Demi shook her head. “Just your brother.” Nick looked over at his family to see what Demi was talking about.

"Which one?" He asked, not seeing what Demi thought was so funny. All he saw was Kevin, his mom, and his dad singing and clapping along with the song while Joe looked upset.

"Joe." Demi looked up at Nick. "He’s jealous that you’re with me right now."

Nick looked at Demi, then back to Joe. “How can you tell?” He asked, turning his head back towards Demi.

"You can just see it on his face." She answered, looking back at Joe.

Nick also looked over at Joe. “I don’t see it.” He put his gaze on Demi once again. “How can you?”

Demi looked up at Nick and smirked. “Guess you can say it’s a gift.”

Nick chuckled. “Yeah, okay. Prove it.” He challenaged, a smirk now on his face.

"Alright." Demi said. She began searching through the pews. "Look at this guy over here." She said, pointing to a man up a couple pews and to their left, probably in his thirty’s.

"Okay, what about him?" Nick asked as he and Demi starred at this guy.

"He’s got an itch that he really wants to scratch." Demi observed.

"Then why doesn’t he scratch it?"

"The itch is in his crotch."

Nick nodded his head and his mouth formed an O shape. “How do I know you’re not just making this stuff up?”

"Just watch." Right then, the guy casually reached down and quickly scratched himself. Nick and Demi bit their lips to keep from bursting out in laughter. "Told you." Demi gloated, a triumphant smile on her face when she looked up at Nick.

"Alright, alright. Do someone else."

Demi took another look around the church. “Okay, see this couple a few rows in front of us?” Demi asked in a whisper. She pointed to the people she was talking about.

Nick looked in the direction she was pointing to. Demi was talking about Miley and Liam. “Yeah, what about them?”

"They’re just waiting for church to be over with so they can pounce on each other." Demi observed with a giggle.

"Don’t talk about her that way." Nick quickly defended.

Demi glanced at Nick, then to the couple, and then back to Nick. “Oh, is that your little girly wirly friend?” She teased, pinching one of Nick’s cheeks.

Nick pulled his face away from her grasp. He rubbed the spot that hurt. “No. She’s a friend.”

"But…you want it to be more, right?"

"When did you become the love doctor?" Nick snapped back. Sure, he still had some feelings for Miley, but what they had was in the past. Nick had no intention of getting back together with her.

"It’s written all over your face." Demi replied, taking her finger and drew circles in front of Nick’s face.

Nick took a gentle grasp of Demi’s wrist and moved her hand to her side. “Then you need to get your eyes checked because I. Don’t. Like. Her.” He said.

Demi opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted when the band stopped playing. Demi and Nick both turned their attention to the altar. The pastor approached the podium. He grabbed a microphone and said, “Now, why don’t we all take time out to say ‘hello’ to everyone.” Soon, the majority of the church was moving around, greeting anyone they could.
