EVEN THOUGH SHE'S BEEN travelling for centuries, Violet has never quite gotten used to the churning excitement that comes with coming in contact with new places and times, no matter whether they may be human or alien. And now she has the chance to feel it all again.
The half Gallifreyan has long since abandoned her 1700's clothing, opting for her boots, a pair of ripped skinny jeans and one of Jack's old t-shirts she pinched from the Torchwood Hub before it was blown sky-high in 2009. Violet looks up as Rose walks back into the console room, the blonde having changed from her 18th Century dress into denim mini-dungarees with a dusty-rose pink t-shirt underneath, her legs clad in black tights and deep brown, calf-high boots on her feet.
"What do you think of this?" Rose asks, spinning slightly. "Will it do?"
Truth be told, Violet reckons the blonde could be wearing some of the strangest clothes in existence and still look like a reincarnated goddess. Startling at the sound of the TARDIS beeping below her hands, the half-breed huffs and shakes her head, knowing full well that growing anything remotely resembling familial or even romantic feelings for the girl will only end in her destruction - and the same can be said for the Doctor, even though his destruction is already ensured.
The Doctor looks at the blonde, a smile on his lips. "In the late 1970's? You'd be better off in a bin bag. Hold on, listen to this." The Doctor puts a CD into the TARDIS player, music filling the space around them. "Ian Dury and the Blockheads. Number One in 1979."
"You're a punk."
"It's good to be a lunatic."
"That's what you are. A big old punk with a bit of rockabilly thrown in."
"Would you like to see him?"
"How'd you mean? In concert?"
"What else is a TARDIS for? I can take you to the Battle of Trafalgar, the first anti-gravity Olympics, Caesar crossing the Rubicon or Ian Dury at the Top Rank, Sheffield, England, Earth, 21st November, 1979." He grins across the console at Rose and Violet. "What do you think?"
