Keith's POV
Lance crumbled in my arms, I held him close. The wound was already healing to reveal a black ☾ over the bite marks.
His breathing was steady. He wouldn't be waking up for a few hours at most. I always wondered why that was.
I leaned back against the soft pillows, Lance was holding me tightly as I pulled a blanket over us.
His face was so peaceful as he slept, it must be nice being able to rest, to have dreams.
I brushed his hair gently and sang a soft song to him.
"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down
You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now
Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound...
Just close your eyes, you'll be alright
Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound..."
Lance would be safe now, as long as I'm here, as long as we're together.
