Splash
Splash padded over to her, still favoring his muddied paw. When she ordered him to show her, he held up his paw once again.Fish
Fish licked the paw clean, gently of course so she didn't hurt him and she held a dock leaf against his paw with her nose whilst using her teeth to put the cobwebs in placeSplash
"I still don't see a reason as to why I need these herbs. It'll heal very soon," he meowed, flattening his ears, continuing to watch her apply the herbs.Fish
As she layered the webs, her voice was muffled but she mewed "I'm pretty sure you'd rather be able to walk tomorrow than staying in your nest with an infected pad, hm?"Splash
"I guess. But I want this mud off me before I look like a hedgehog," he said, "So I'll risk another afternoon so I don't get my nest dirty."Fish
"There's a stream not to far from here. We can wash off there." Fish flicked her white tail and curved her spine towards the skySplash
"Then what are we waiting for?" Splash asked, setting his paw back down. "Let's go." He resisted the urge to run forward.Fish
"Lean on me and keep that paw off the ground." She advised, offering her shoulder to the tomSplash
"I'm fine, I just have to not walk on it much. Besides, you're more injured than me," he smiled reassuringly.Fish
She flicked his ear with her tail and limped out of the clearing towards the streamSplash
Splash shook his head quickly and bounded after her. Though, he didn't put much pressure on the paw. He came to the clearing and jumped into the stream with a yell. He shook his pelt, scattering dirty water. His pelt looked a little lighter.Fish
"Careful! That dock leaf is only kept on your paw with cobweb!" She told him before splashing herself with the waterSplash
"Excuse you, but I don't like to be clean with a single muddy paw." He licked his chest several times, bringing up wet, white fur and mud. He spat it out, the dirt clinging to his tongue.Fish
"And I don't like perfectly good herbs washed down the stream." She groomed her fur until it became fluffy again but it was still a light brown so she continuedSplash
"You should've thought ahead," he meowed, "Let us get clean, then apply the herbs. A win win."Fish
She flashed him an agitated look but stayed silentSplash
He continued to clean himself, though he did try to keep the herbs out of harm's way. He got a mouth full of dirt again.Fish
Fish dove under the water and swam a little before rising to the surface, her ears twitching "I've not swam in ages!"Shadowfang
Shadowfang hesitated to answer. Her mind raced, catching something that she could say, but any explanations were run out because any answer might deal a blow to her brother. She flattened her ears and meowed, "A while. Ever since Darkstar and Widowstream went to retrieve my body. That's why they never brought it back. I've been living in the territory."Splash
"Ironic, you're named after a fish, though you don't swim much," Splash smiled, flicking an ear. He once again shook his pelt, scattering slightly cleaner water.Fish
Fish sighed "You done? If Ash woke up he's probably wondering where we are."Splash
"I bet he woke up already from us having that mud fight in the clearing," Splash meowed. "He won't be too grouchy."
