Same day as last chapter

{Diannes POV}
"Will do." I waved Joe off as I shut the door behind me.
"Dot, come in here!" I heard mums voice shout from the kitchen. Slipping my shoes off, I dropped my bag to the floor and walked through to the kitchen where Mum was making dinner.
"Miss Kim has arranged a meeting with us after class tonight. She's accepted the offer so it'll definitely be happening!" Her face broke into the biggest smile I've ever seen. I swear she's more excited than me.
"Okay" I squealed, "I can't believe I'm actually going to be able to perform on Strictly!"
"I can't wait to watch it already and we don't even know when you are going to be doing it!"
"I know!"
"Have you told anyone?"
"I've told Joe and you obviously. No one else."
"Why not?" Mum asked, her brow furrowed, "how have you managed to keep it such a secret?!"
"Uhhh." A thought ran to the front of my mind. I didn't want to make anyone jealous or anything.
"Don't tell me it's something to do with what your friends might think" Mum said sternly. I didn't say anything but dropped my eye-line slightly.
"Dot..."
"I guess I don't want them to turn against me because of it or something" I shrugged so as to not let her know it was bothering me.
"Dot, you've got amazing friends. I'm sure they will all be incredibly supportive of you, if not then they aren't worth it" Mum reassured me with a gentle smile.
"I guess"
"Go and get changed, your tea is nearly ready."

After dance

"Thank you" we all chorused as our lesson was finished. I got ready to leave slowly so they would all have gone before my meeting; if I'm honest, I didn't want them to see me going into the office. I hung back until they had all left the building before leaving the studio with my teacher, meeting my mum outside the office.
"Hello Rina" Miss Kim smiled as we came out of the doors.
"Hi Kim, how are you?"
"Not bad thanks. Are you alright?"
"Yes thank you." Miss Kim put in the code for the office door and led us into the small room. On one of the desks was a little booklet of papers about Strictly. My mum and I pulled out a chair each from underneath the bench along the side of the wall as Miss Kim sorted through what she would need. Once she had it all, she sat down in front of us, all of the papers laid out on the table.
"So" she started out, "I've accepted the offer so it will definitely be happening. Strictly Arts is linked to Strictly Come Dancing so a lot of our ex pupils have moved on to being professionals on the show, so this is just the beginning for you Dianne. In this booklet there is everything you will need to know about the performance so the date of the show and the rehearsals, times etc. The producers have asked for you to do a dance anywhere between 1 and half minutes to two minutes long. It can be any song and any style. Obviously, this opportunity has only been offered to one student so you have a choice. You can either do a solo performance or you can partner up with one of the professionals already on the show and dance with them. If you chose to partner up, you can obviously break off like you would normally - you don't have to stay stuck to them throughout the whole piece. I need to know what you would like to do quickly so we can get you a partner and sort out everything with them. What would you prefer to do?"
"Umm" I thought for a moment, "I think I'd prefer to partner up with someone."
"Okay. So when I know who you will be dancing with, we can sort everything else out"
"Okay."
"I'll let you go now, take these" the teacher said with a smile, handing me some of the papers in her hand.
"Thank you." My mum and I stood up and left dancing quickly as it was getting late.

10:35pm

I was laid in bed watching Netflix when my phone started flashing and buzzing. It was Amy.
A- Not to worry you or anything but Rosie's been saying some weird things about Joe at dancing when you weren't near her x
D- What do you mean? X
A- Shes just saying that he messages her constantly even when she doesn't answer him and weird stuff like that. I just thought I'd let you know because I'd hate for you to get hurt x
D- Oh my god. She apologised to me the other day for being to 'over the top' with him! I swear to god, she was growing on me. I'm gonna message Joe I think
A- Maybe you should wait until you see him in person x
D- Maybe but it's gonna stress me out so I might just ask him now x
A- Okay, just looking out for you x
D- I know, love you xx
A- Love you too xx

D- Hiya
J- Hey gorgeous, you alright?
D- Actually I have a question...
J- Go on
D- Have you been messaging Rosie?
D- I haven't got a problem with it if you have but she's been saying you message her loads even if she doesn't reply to you
J- What?! No! I haven't messaged her once
D- Okay, I didn't think you had but thought I should check before I ask her. I'm gonna ask her tomorrow in dancing and hope for the best. By best, I mean hope that she apologises for it. Does she message you?
J- Not really, maybe like once a week or something?
D- That's so weird, why would she lie like that?
J- Maybe she's jealous of you
D- There's nothing to be jealous of!
J- Trust me there is. You are beautiful and funny and kind and talented and lovely and genuine and honest and just a genuinely good person :)
D- Aw I love you xx
