Arnold and Helga were walking home from school.
ARNOLD'S POV

"Football head!!" I was in the middle of talking when I noticed Arnold wasn't paying attention.
"Huh, I'm sorry, Helga, w-what were you saying?"
I'm too nervous.
I better try before I run out of time!
I reached over just a bit. Then, my fingers lingered on top of Helga's hand.
HELGA'S POV
What is happening, what is happening?
WHAT IS HAPPENING!?
Arnold's fingers just brushed against mine!
I glanced at Arnold, and he looked tomato red. I have to admit he looked cute.
Am I dreaming?
Is Arnold trying to hold my hand?
Oh, what a dream come true!
Not missing this opportunity, I take his hand in mine.
ARNOLD'S POV
Suddenly my mind stopped, and I looked at Helga, for a brief second, before looking down at our clasped hands. Like that, my heart started beating even faster.
I couldn't help the smile threatening to form. I was happy as my heart was pounding.
