Chapter 26

Desirah's POV

It doesn't take long for you to get used to hanging around famous people. Call me selfish or ungrateful, but seeing the boys everyday didn't surprise me or please me anymore. It was just... normal.

But that doesn't mean I was prepared when I woke up the next morning and saw Niall grinning down at me, his face inches away from mine.

"What the heck?" I spluttered, and tried to shrink into my mattress. It didn't work very well. "Um, can I help you?"

"Good morning, Desirah!" he sang in his wonderful Irish voice. "Get up, get up, get up! We've got a big day ahead of us!"

"We always have a big day," I mumbled as he drew open the blinds to the window in my room. I squinted into the sudden bright light. "What makes this one any different?"

"I've got a surprise for you," he said, still singing. "But you have to get up and get ready before you receive this surprise."

"Alright, alright, I'm up," I said quickly, and he grinned again. Niall skipped out of my room, and I watched him go with a small frown. He was unusually happy this morning.

I rolled out of bed and threw open my suitcase. Despite living in this mansion for about a week, I hadn't put any of my things in the drawers or closets. I wasn't sure how long my stay was going to be. I didn't want to get too comfortable only to be kicked out a few days later.

I put on a white undershirt and a grayish-black Frozen "Let It Go" tank top with a black-and-white picture of Elsa on it. I loved my Disney. I pulled on my dark blue Harley Davidson jeans after that. My socks and shoes were the same. I planned on showering in the evening, so I just simply brushed through my hair until it was soft to the touch. Then I washed my face to rid myself of last night's tired residue.

I left my bedroom and entered the kitchen. I sat between Louis and Harry at the table and tapped my fingers against the wood. I noticed that there was no fresh breakfast prepared. Uh oh.

"Who made breakfast?" I asked.

"No one," they all replied.

"Okay. Why not?"

"Too lazy," Harry said with a shrug and sat back.

"Too hard," Liam complained.

"Too expensive," Zayn added.

"Can't cook," Louis and Niall chimed in. I face-palmed. These boys were helpless.

"Cereal it is, then," I said sardonically. "It's a wonder how you guys can even take care of yourselves."

"Hey, this is the one day we haven't prepared a big, special meal," Liam said defensively. "Lower your expectations."

"Lower them real low," Louis agreed.

I had to laugh a little bit as I found some bowls and put them on the counter. I took the 1% milk from the refrigerator and set it next to the bowls. I counted out five spoons and Liam's special spoon (the one only he used), and handed them out to each boy. I gave them their bowls next. I put the milk in the middle of the table.

"Find your own cereal," I ordered. "I don't know what you guys like."

Apparently, they each liked a different kind of cereal. Typical. Niall liked Cocoa Puffs because of the chocolate. Same with Liam, only he preferred Cocoa Pebbles. Zayn was a fan of Fruity Pebbles and continuously made fun of Liam for liking Cocoa Pebbles. Harry liked Trix (because it was for kids) and Louis had claim over the Cheerios. I couldn't care less about what kind of cereal I had, but they weren't willing to share, so I settled with Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It brought back childhood memories.
