Noah's POV

I was sitting in the waiting room when an older man and woman came rushing in with a little boy. I couldn't make out what they were saying but they looked scared and disappointed when the woman at the receptionist desk said something to them.

The woman soon pointed over towards me and then all 4 of them were looking at me. I waved not knowing what else to do. The man, woman, and child came towards me and sat in front of me.

"We were told you were the one who called the cops?" the woman asked. I nodded not knowing what to say.

"Can you tell us what happened?" the man asked. I nodded again but didn't start talking. What was I going to say? That I stole her bracelet and then she got mad and fainted?

I covered up my wrist before they noticed the bracelet and started making up some kind of lies.

"Well, we were in the library and stuff was happening and she started getting mad and then fainted but before she did she said 'hospital' so I called 911" I told them my cheap ass lie. Well it wasn't really a lie just not at all descriptive.

"Oh, do you know about her past?" the woman asked carefully. Should I say yes? Or will it make matters worse?

"I don't think so..." I told them. If I had said yes then they might blame it on me, even though this is my fault.

"Do you know about her disease?" the man asked. Yes I do.

"No" they nodded and then sat forward.

"She has a heart disease and it gets triggered when she's active more than normal. She had to take anger management when she was diagnosed because getting all riled up wasn't good for her. Before high school she had anger issues" the man said. By now the woman looked like she was going to cry.

"Wow, that's bad" I said. I already knew but they didn't have to know that.

"Yeah" the woman said.

"So I'm guessing you're her parents?" I asked, they had resemblance but I asked just to make sure.

"Oh yes, I'm her mother Catherine, this is her father Jordan, and this is her little brother Jade" the mother, Catherine, said.

"I'm Abigail's friend, Noah" I stuck my hand out and Jordan took it, then Catherine. I put my hand back in my lap and lent down to look at Jade. "Hey there buddy, I'm Noah" I smiled at him and he hid behind his mothers arm. I chuckled and sat back up.

"He's a little shy" Catherine said. Then right after a doctor came up to us. I couldn't read his facial expression so I didn't know what was to come.

"Are you here for Abigail?" he asked the parents. They nodded and the doctor continued. "Okay well, we had to do some test and almost everything is looking fine"

"I'm sorry, almost everything?" Jordan asked putting emphasis on the word almost.

"Yes, whatever happened it caused multiple blood clots, and not only near the heart. They're also near her brain which can cause a lot of damage if we don't do something soon.

"We're going to have to surgically get in there and fix it up. Medicine won't help it this time. Luckily they're all near the same spot so we'd only have to cut open in one area. It's going to have to be big enough so we can get the ones near her heart and brain.

"So we're going to have to cut right here" he put two of his fingers up to where the neck and shoulders meet, above the collar bone. "I have come out here to ask for your consent before we do anything." He finished up.

I look over at her parents. Jordan is holding Catherine with watery eyes. Catherine is crying and holding a sleeping Jade. I'm not crying but I certainly am shocked. All of this was because of me. I am at fault. I am the one to blame.

I look back over at Catherine and she's signing some papers. I assume the one's to do the surgery. I have to tell them. As soon as the doctor walks away I turn back towards Abigail's parents.

"Um, I'm really sorry. I'm sorry she has to go through this" I say to them, they're looking at me now.

"Oh honey, none of this is your fault, you don't have to be sorry" Catherine said, putting a hand n my knee and rubbing it for reassurance.

"Actually, about that. This is my fault" I look down at my hand in my lap.

"What do you mean?" Jordan asked.

"Well on Monday, she had dropped the bracelet her brother gave her. I didn't know at the time that it was so important to her so I kept it to play around with her.

"She had told me Tuesday about her disease. I know I lied to you but I'm really sorry. Then today she told me about her past and then she got mad at me.

"She said how the bracelet was the only thing that kept her calm anymore. She was getting angry and yelling at me. Before I could say anything she had fainted.

"I know I lied to you guys and I really shouldn't have. I am so sorry. I didn't know keeping her bracelet would do this to her, if I did I would've given it back right away. You don't know how sorry I am." I told them everything. They just stared at me for a moment.

"We understand" Catherine said. I could've swore I seen Jordan's face get red, maybe from anger? Probably.

"I should just go" I said getting up.

"No no stay it's alright I know you didn't mean any harm" Catherine said I looked at her unsure and she just motioned for me to sit.

I sat and we waited. I wasn't leaving until I could see her, I had to at least give her the bracelet back. Especially after everything that's happened.

I'm woke up by shaking, I look up to see Catherine.

"Wake up honey, the doctors coming" I shoot straight up.

"Okay, the surgery went fine and she is now open for visitation" the doctor said and started walking away.

We all got up and followed. We got to a room that said 44 and Abigail's family went in. I sat in the chairs outside the room to give them some family time.

They finally came out and I stood up.

"She's sleeping right now so be quiet." Catherine said giving me a sad smile. Jordan patted my shoulder before walking off with Catherine and Jade.

I blew out a breath I didn't know I was holding and walked in the room. She was just laying there sleeping, she looked so peaceful. Much different than the cute little feisty Koala she looked like at the library.
