ariana.

                          
after the concert the girls went to find dave, a security man who was suppose to let them in on where the boys were.
the girls all passed the hotel lobby, where they, too, booked rooms to stay in. who said sleeping at a hotel wouldn't be fun?
                          
"did they seriously go to the pool?" gabbie questioned, shaking her head with a smile. "probably jack's idea. he's a nut."
                          
"a nut?"
                          
"yep."
                          
ariana laughed with the girls as gabbie responded to tate without even giving a proper answer. it was now tate's turn to shake her head. gabbie could be quite the weirdo, but she was certainly lovable.
                          
"wait, guys..." kay interrupted the situation, walking into a a smaller hallway off from the main one.
                          
the girls retraced their steps, going to the small blonde. kay was resting on her knees, reading off of a yellow sticky note. behind the girls, ariana couldn't make out the message.
                          
"this is for us, i think?" christina and sierra said simultaneously, before looking at each other and giggling. ariana was reminded quickly of why she loved the two so much. they were both goofy and light hearted.
                          
tate took a closer look as gabbie and ariana shared a knowing look.
"no duh. open it up."
                          
kay glanced over at the others before unzipping the large, black and blue striped duffel. as it came undone, kay had to tug at the zipper as it would get stuck.
                          
"can someone read the letter out loud?" ariana asked finally, her impatience getting to her.
                          
"here."
                          
christina passed the note to gabbie from her spot beside kay. gabbie held the letter tightly, ariana reading over her shoulder.

ariana's heart raced when she couldn't spot her name on the note. she felt left out and unimportant suddenly. wasn't this whole thing so that her and zach could finally meet, too? maybe this was all fake, only to embarrass her all over again.
                          
"maybe i should go..." ariana crossed her arms in a defensive manor. she only spoke after moments of silence where the girls began rummaging through the bag.
                          
as sierra began responding, kay pulled out the top of a bikini, holding it for the rest to see. all the girls held confused expressions, even ariana. kay handed it off to christina, who was inspecting the top.
                          
kay began pulling out multiple bikini tops and bottoms, as the girls realized what the obviously meant. they excitedly fought between the different sets and who got what, as ariana stood off to the side.
                          
her name wasn't in the note. did that mean there wouldn't be one for her and that she was forgotten? maybe they just didn't want her. she sighed quietly and was uncertain about what to do.
                          
gathering the bikini's in the duffel, the girls excitedly kept going down the hall, following the signs on the wall that read pool with arrow symbols. kay was the only one to stop and stay with ariana, which she wasn't sure was better or worse.
                          
"no more bikini's, right?"
                          
"i'm honestly tempted to give you mine..."
                          
kay offered ariana a smile as she ran a hand through her dark hair. ariana shifted uncomfortable and stood with her hands
clasped together in front of her. kay however was open and confident, but in this moment she couldn't bring herself to be as excited as the other girls.
                          
ariana knew that kay and zach had broken up, but it was kay's name on the sticky note, not hers. that could only mean so much. not to mention zach definitely had feelings for kay and vice versa. perhaps he changed his mind.
                          
"no," ariana took a deep breath.
"they want you."
                          
kay sadly looked at ariana and brought her in for a hug. letting go, ariana thought about how much she appreciated kay and felt a small pang of guilt for her previous thoughts on kay. she almost felt bad for reading and believing the confessions on all those why don't we fanpages.
                          
"no. take it," kay started, shoving the bathing suit into ariana's arms. despite kay's ultimate love for zach, all she wanted was his happiness. so it was time to give him away.
                          
"you two belong together. don't let me get in the way of that."
                          
with those words, kay's eyes started tearing up and she wiped them off.
"i want you to have fun with them, ariana."
                          
ariana smiled at kay as she walked off.
                          
"thank you."
