I faced the Dynamite leader; he looked as if he could burst into tears. But he took a deep breath and hardened his expression.
"Well, I assume that means you did not have the right to undermine your superior, Bomb Boy," I concluded, brushing away the fear of what might happen next.
The humiliated boy's face instead turned red. "The name's Agger, and I don't know what that means. But I do know I'm the best of all of you!"
"Oh yeah? Well, if I beat your time, you shout 'Saige is better than me' out loud," I proposed. "If I lose, you have the permission to beat me up."
Saige, who had been intently listening to the conversation, stepped out of the line and escorted me out of Agger's hearing distance.
"Jace, what were you thinking! You've done this only zero times, so how could you contest with one of the leaders?"
