(The next morning...)
I groaned and attempted to roll onto my right side to get comfortable. Unfortunately, I wound up rolling out of bed instead. I crashed to the floor and grunted in pain as I ate fresh pine hardwood.
"Ow..." I mumbled as my vision blurred and freaked out by waking up so suddenly.
"Helix?" My wife murmured, "You okay?"
"I'm good," I assured her. "I just rolled off the bed."
"Oh, okay..." She began as I watched her sit up. "What...exactly happened last night?"
I got off of the floor and sat on our bed, pondering her question: "I...can't remember," I finally responded, "Last night's events are really hazy."
I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, and bits and pieces of what happened last night came back to me as my brain woke up. At first, I was still confused. However, I was able to connect the dots a few moments later.
I blushed: "O-Oh, I think I have a good idea as to what happened last night."
"What?"
I told her.
Her face went crimson red: "O-Oh..."
"Yeah..."
As I continued to wake up, I stood up and realized the inevitable: "Oh bloody hell...I'm naked."
Luna rolled her eyes, and I couldn't help but be floored by her beauty: "That makes two of us love. I'm honestly surprised you're noticing this just now."
I sighed and attempted to regain some of my wits. "Touche...let's get dressed. Hopefully Syl didn't...hear us last night."
My wife's face paled, and she hurriedly went to our clothes dresser and pulled out some clothes to put on. As I threw on one of my black tunics, I paused as I sensed something...weird. I sensed Luna's aura just fine, but I also noticed two other auras in this room. They appeared to be within my wife, and they flickered to life before glowing steadily. What caught me off guard the most was that they were different colors: one was a rich dark blue and the other was a regal gold.
My jaw dropped: "Um...Luna?"
"Yeah?" She replied as she threw on a simple blouse.
"Do you...sense any other auras in this room?"
She frowned in confusion, only for her eyes to widen in surprise: "I sense two auras...inside of me."
"Does that mean you're...pregnant?" I asked her in a small voice as I clasped the crescent moon necklace Luna gave me around my neck.
"The aura is the first thing to form in a developing child," Luna began slowly as she put on a pair of pants-my pants: "So...yeah, I'm pregnant. Do you have a belt I can wear?"
I felt joy blossom in my chest as I embraced my wife: "Holy shit...you're pregnant...oh yeah, I'll get you a belt in a moment. Why are you wearing a pair of my pants?"
She shrugged: "Because I feel like it."
I chuckled as I stepped away from her and got a belt for her: "Here you go."
After she put my belt on, she embraced me again: "Our family's growing, Hel. Three children...oh dear."
I smiled as I stroked her hair: "How do you think Sylvia's going to react to this news?"
Luna chuckled, "Oh, she'll be overjoyed to be a big sister. My question is how's the team going to react to this news?"
"I guess we'll find out." I told her as I made to leave our room, only to pause: "We...may have to find an actual house to live in. This apartment's too small to raise three children in."
She nodded thoughtfully: "Yeah...you have a point. We should see if there are any estates for sale that are outside the city-I'd rather our children grow up in the beauty of nature rather than be confined within the city walls of Helios."
"Fair enough." I replied, "I'll go to the town that's situated by the main road that leads into the city and see if there's anything available sometime soon."
She nodded again: "Sounds like a plan to me. You should probably start breakfast before Sylvia barrels in here and asks what the holdup's about."
I chuckled and left our room with Luna bringing up the rear. She sat at the table in the dining room while I whipped up a simple breakfast. A few moments later, Sylvia shambled out of her room. Her hair was a mess, and she hugged her plush wolf to her chest as she walked to the dining room table and sat down beside her mom.
"Food..." She mumbled as she smelled my creations.
I smiled: "Hungry, lass?"
"No, I'm just stating the fact that you're cooking food," She shot back irritably.
I whistled, "Well, excuse me little miss sassy sue. You've been working on your sarcasm, haven't you?"
"No of course not." She slung back with a light huff on the side.
I chuckled as I loaded up three plates full of bacon, eggs, sausages, and biscuits.
"Here you go." I chirped as I laid the plates down before Luna and Syl. My daughter beamed at me, then froze when she was about to tear into her food. She looked at her mother in confusion.
"Hey mom," She began, "Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could swear I sense two auras in you."
Luna smiled warmly: "Well, you aren't wrong Syl. You just sensed the auras of your little brother and sister."
Her eyes widened, "Wait-I'm going to be a big sister? Wait again-you're pregnant?"
Her mother huffed out a chuckle. "You're two for two, lass."
Sylvia looked at me curiously: "So that's what all the ruckus was last night?"
Luna and I both blushed fiercely: "Um...that's a conversation for another day, Sylvia," I told her hurriedly.
My daughter looked at me innocently: "What conversation?"
I sighed, "Spare me please."
Sylvia laughed evilly as she leapt to her feet and tugged on the sleeve of her mother's blouse to stand up. When Luna did stand up, she embraced her mother.
"I'm going to be a big sister!" my daughter cheered as she bear-hugged her mother: "This is going to be awesome!"
Luna chuckled, cringing as her daughter partially crushed her rib cage: "H-Hey lass? Let's eat before our food gets cold."
"Oh right, food." Sylvia mused as she sat back down and started wolfing down her food. Syl had set her plush wolf down beside her plate, and she hugged her beloved companion to her chest again when she had cleared her plate. When Luna and I were finished eating, I took everyone's dishes and washed them before clapping my hands together.
"Alright, I believe Virrius wanted to see us before we went to the Skag."
"We're ready if you are, love." Luna told me.
