     "What?" Calum furrows his brows. "You don't have to take it back."
                          
     "No, it was awkward and I'm drunk, I'm sorry-"
                          
     "Ash, stop." Calum interrupts him. "It's okay, love."
                          
     "No it's not." Ashton sighs.
                          
     "You're way too drunk to have this conversation right now, okay?" Calum says. "Go to sleep, and call me tomorrow when you wake up and you can form your thoughts the right way."
                          
     "Okay." Ashton replies.
                          
     "Sleep good, alright?" Calum smiles.
                          
     "I would sleep better if you were here." Ashton mumbles.
                          
     "I know baby, me too. I'll talk to you in the morning."
                          
     "Okay." Ashton smiles. "Bye."
                          
     "Bye."
                          
     Calum hangs up the phone and sets it on the counter, sighing as he rubs his eyes. "Fuck."
                          
     If he's being honest, he doesn't check up on Luke as much as he should and he feels kind of like a piece of shit for it, despite also thinking he's the best person in his entire friend group.
