Lukas and Aiden walked down the stairs, reaching the inky terrain. They didn't see any sign of the Projectionist, for the monster went down one of the ways to go. The guys saw him go down to the path on the right, so they entered the way in the left.

As Lukas and Aiden ventured into dangerous territory, Kate watched them leave from back up where the elevator was. She formed a worried look as she saw her friends venture on without her.

"Be safe guys..." she muttered under her breath.

She suddenly felt someone grab her hand. She looked over to see that it was Bendy. The little devil gave her a small smile to help give her confidence.

Kate smiled back at Bendy. She squeezed his hand back.

Boris and Alice saw Bendy comforting Kate. They smiled as well, glad to see that Bendy had not only come to trust Kate, but also see her as a friend.

"They do care about us. They're not like Joey..." Boris whispered to Alice.

"They really do. They will set us free... we'll finally escape because of them..." Alice whispered back.

Kate and Bendy didn't hear them whisper. They looked down, watching as the Projectionist came out of the right tunnel and was going down the path were Lukas and Aiden went into. The light from his projector head moved as he walked, but at least it wasn't able to reach up to where the four were.

As the Projectionist started to leave from her sight, Kate noticed that down at the bottom, there was another tape recorder on a box, lying down in the ink lake. She let go of Bendy's hand.

"I'll be right back. I promise," she said.

She started to go down the stairs. Bendy grabbed her hand and tried to pull her back.

"Don't go!" he said.

"I'm not going to leave. Don't worry. I just want to grab something. I promise, I'll stay in your sights," said Kate.

Bendy let go of her hand, letting here walk down the stairs quickly. Kate made her way down to the bottom. She listened to make sure that there wasn't any sounds of someone walking in the ink. Nothing. She grabbed the recorder and rushed back upstairs.

Upon reaching the elevator once more, Kate let out a sigh of relief. She hit the play button on the recorder. It played a message from Norman Polk, who she remembered worked in the music department upstairs.

"Now I'm not lookin' for trouble. It's just the nature of us projectionists to seek out the dark places. You see, I've learned the ins and outs of this here studio. I know how to avoid being bothered by the likes of this... company. 'That projectionist', they always say, 'creeping around, he's just lookin' for trouble'. Well trouble or not, I see everything. They don't even know when I'm watchin'. Even when I'm right behind 'em," said Norman's voice.

Kate formed a shocked look. She looked back over down to where the ink monster was. She didn't see the Projectionist, but she didn't need to see him to confirm what she just discovered.

"Norman... I'm so sorry that you became this..." she whispered.

Back with the guys, Lukas and Aiden were doing their best to look around the Projectionist's lair. As they reached the doorway, they almost got spooked, thinking that they saw the Projectionist. There was bright light, and they could hear the sound of a projector running.

But nothing came out. Lukas nervously stepped forward, seeing that a regular projector was running, and it was even playing a clip from one of the old Bendy cartoons, which was shown on the wall the projector pointed to.
