No more blood or pain. No more loud voices and no more Jeff. It was like the world decided to restart.

Everything looked like a blank canvas, but it was foggy. Almost as if I was in another dimension. I was still lying on my stomach from when Jeff was about to kill me. I got to my feet, squeezing my eyes shut. I expected to feel pain but I really couldn't feel anything.

Was this what death felt like? As I was pondering about death, the scene changed right before my eyes.  Powdery snow covered the ground like a blanket and cold wind whipped across my cheeks.

I attempted to move forward but I couldn't. I was frozen to the spot. While I struggled to move the wind became more violent.

The winter day turned into a freezing, severe weathered night. I could hear the wind whistling in my ears and the sound of leaves getting rustled intensely. The wind got fiercer, pushing against my body with such a force it took my breath away.

It hurt to open my eyes because every time I did the snow would fly into them like bullets. My face was numb and frostbitten, whereas my body was 4 feet deep in snow. But I couldn't scream or yell, just sit there helplessly as the weather eroded me.

So dark, so scary. I tried vainly to scream, but nothing would come out. Fear suffocated me, and as I was accepting my fate everything went still and calm as if nothing happened.

I cautiously opened my eyes to see what had made everything stop. This time I was in a tall pine forest. For as far as I could see, there were tall trees that stood strong like fearless soldiers. A thick fog lied over the area, preventing me from seeing very far.

Just like in the blizzard I couldn't struggle or call out. It was silent. So quiet that if I were to whisper something you would be able to hear it miles away.

Shuddering, I strained to see farther. I knew I was looking for something, I just wasn't sure what. The place started getting darker. Even the bravest of soldiers would be afraid. It was so quiet, but yet so alarming at the same time.

A dull footstep sounded from in front of me. I couldn't see whatever it was, but the presence unnerved me.

Since I couldn't move, I just stared with wide, fearing eyes. The cool breeze caused a shiver to run up my spine, the silence causing me to tense ever so slightly. Another step towards me. My eyes widened a bit but still strained to see what was there. Another step. My breath caught in my throat.

The fog barely cleared, slowly revealing a huge beast a few feet away. I couldn't make out what it was, though. It started trotting towards me, but in a threatening manner, causing me to flinch.

It froze, looking me dead in the eye. I gulped, cold sweat trickling down my forehead. The clouds moved away from the moon, white beams of light shining down on the creature.

It lifted its head into the air, releasing a beautiful but strong howl. It was powerful and over-dominating, echoing through the trees and caressing my eardrums. Its presence made me feel tiny and unworthy.

The moonlight hit its pelt, igniting it in silver flames. The howl was frosty and swirled above the creature that I knew at that moment was a wolf.

The wolf's black, silky coat looked soft and smooth. Its frame was muscular but lithe, built for speed and skill. The tail was long and fluffy with a white tip. The chest fur was white, along with the stomach fur. The wolf's size was incredulous, about 6 percent bigger than an average male gray wolf.

I admired the wolf some more until the howling came to a halt and it looked at me. We locked gazes. An emotional connection tugged at my stomach as we continued to stare deep into one another's eyes.
