Stiles watched with wide eyes as Scott guided Emma back into the room, her hair a mess as she trembled ever so slightly. She looked fine to most people, but Stiles was not most people. Scott's eyes were wide with worry as he sat down next to Stiles, watching Emma nervously. "Hey, what's wrong?" Stiles whispered, staring at the two of them. Scott's eyes were blank as he zoned out, his mind trying to work out a solution to the impending solution.
"Dude" Stiles growled in a hushed whispered, elbowing Scott. He jerked up, turning finally to respond to Stiles.
"Sorry, what?" Scott asked, now aware of the worry that had been displayed on his face. Scott cleared his throat, offering a smile. Stiles stared at him in disbelief, wondering what Scott was trying to hide from him.
"I said, are you okay? Is Emma?" Stiles asked, glancing over at her as Allison rubbed her back, trying to get her to calm down. Scott gulped nervsouly, not wanting to lie to Stiles but nothing was set in stone and if he could save his friend from worrying more, he would.
"Nothing. Just uh nervous for the game tonight" Scott answered, stuttering as he lied. Stiles paused, waiting for information on what was wrong with Emma. "Oh, Emma? She's fine, just uh saw some nasty Kanima murders" Scott lied, Stiles nodding hesitantly as he glanced over at her.
She was a tough girl and Stiles knew better than anyone that it took more than that to upset her. He watched as Allison patted her back but Stiles knew that it wouldn't help. The only way to calm her down is to hold her tightly in your arms, leaning your head against hers, Stiles thought, knowing that he was the only one who could calm her down and he could do nothing about it. He sighed sadly, turning back to the board as he tried to distract himself with the nerves of tonights game.
"All right boys, let's kick their asses tonight!" Coach yelled as the team huddled together. "I want to see them beg for mercy! I want this school to win this! I want everyone's minds on the field tonight! Understand?" everyone let out a collective cheer. "Then let's go!" the coach's voice becoming louder and louder, as the team irrupted into cheers, heading off for the field. Scott gulped nervously, knowing that something bad was going to happen tonight. He didn't know what, but he knew it wasn't going to be good.
"McCall, you're benched for now" Coach stuck his arm in front of Scott as he reached the field. Scott looked up with confused eyes, missing something. He was, after all, a starter. Coach noticed his look of confusion, adding an eye roll."Remember you missed practice yesterday? That means you don't start" Coach scolded, pushing Scott towards the bench. Scott sighed, plopping down in defeat. "Stilinski, you're in" Coach shouted, Stiles perking up.
"Me?" Stiles asked, looking to his side. Coach sighed, rolling his eyes as he nodded.
"Yes, you. Now get out there!" Coach roared, Stiles cheering as he stumbled to his feet. He grabbed his lacrosse stick, running onto the field. "Why is my son running onto the field?" Mr. Stilinski groaned from where he sat next to Lydia, Allison and Ms. McCall.
"Because he's playing?" Melissa asked as the whistle blew, signaling the start of the game. John's eyes went wide, a smile coming onto his face.
"My son is on the field! My son is playing!" John smiled, standing up before quickly sitting down. He wore a look of pride on his face, that is until the first play, when the ball bounced on Stiles' helmet, resulting in the team getting the ball.
Scott sat, his leg bouncing furiously as his senses were on high alert. Something was going to go wrong. "Scott can you hear me?" a voice asked, Scott's heart pounding against his ribs as he looked around, searching for the source. He found Gerarde, standing at the other corner of the field. "Oh you can hear me. Good. Now listen closely. I want you to bring me Derek Hale" Gerarde demanded, a confused look coming across Scott's face.
