I removed my blade from the creature's side and swiftly decapitated it. Another shadow guardian charged at me, only to get an arrow in between its eyes. I turned around to see Dorrian taking cover within a nearby building. He waved at me, only for an arrow to embed itself into his shoulder. He staggered, then fell to the ground.

At first, I was stunned. Slowly but surely, I felt an icy fury take hold in my mind.

"Dorrian!" I heard Ana scream.

"Luna, go tend to his wounds," I told my wife: "I'll keep these assholes away from you."

"Are you sure-?"

"Please go help him," I pleaded.

She nodded and hurried toward the building Dorrian was located in. I then caught sight of Analise as she sprinted toward the archer who had shot Dorrian. She pounced on the poor sap and tore into the creature. When she was done, she was covered in murky dark purple blood. She cut off the shadow guardian's head and violently threw it off to the side. She then looked at Reinhardt, who was watching her off to the side.

"You bitch," She growled prowling toward him, "I'll make you pay!"

I tried to stop her, but another guardian threw itself at me.

"Ana!" I managed to shout before getting caught up in a desperate sword fight.

I caught sight of Stanford and Horace as they tag-teamed a Schatten wächter, cutting it down under their combined efforts. A support shot from Nova ensured the thing was dead.

I didn't catch sight of Erron until a guardian near me was disintegrated. His mask was covered in soot, and his aura was as violent as a wildfire.

Honestly, I'm so glad I had good armor on. I was able to shrug off most of the strikes I sustained without being staggered. When I finally cut down the guardian that had charged at me, I sighed and popped my neck.

The next thing I noticed about these assholes worried me greatly: if you didn't behead them, they were still in fighting condition. I figured this out the hard way when the guardian Dorrian shot in between the eyes charged at me. I swiftly dispatched the guardian, then watched as Serafine flew past me and collided with a schatten wächter. She then pinned it against the side of a building using a few spears of light. She was turned away from me, but I saw the creature scream in agony as it slowly disintegrated before the angelic lord.

I whistled: "So that's what happens when she smites someone," I mused to myself.

I caught sight of Ana again: she was currently on her hands and knees as Reinhardt slowly approached her. She quickly jumped to her feet and charged at Reinhardt again. She leapt at him, only for him to catch her in mid-air by her neck. She hung there in his grip, gasping for air as she tried to stab at his hand with one of her knives.

"You never learn," Reinhardt began smoothly, wrenching the knife from her hand and looking at it lazily: "What a fine piece of weaponry you have."

Without warning, he impaled Ana in the abdomen with her own knife and tossed her off to the side. She flew through the air before she crashed into the ground with a silent thud.

"Ana!" I shouted for the second time that day. I hurried over to her side and knelt before her. I heard a shadow guardian rushing toward me, but I was relieved to hear the familiar sound of Nova's gauss rifle firing.

Reinhardt sighed dramatically: "Oh yes: you, the insufferable lupan who's disintegrated half of my men with that infernal weapon of yours. I am growing tired of your resistance."

I picked Ana up and started to make my way toward the building where Luna and Dorrian were housed in.

Behind me, I heard manic laughter: "Let me relieve you of your firearm."

A bolt of ethridium flew at Reinhardt. Instead of hitting him like it should've, it hovered mere inches away from his face. In the blink of an eye, the bolt was sent back at Nova. I heard an explosion in one of the buildings near me, and I felt my heart sink.

"No..." I murmured, and forced myself to move faster.

When I finally entered the building where Luna and Dorrian were, I saw my wife trying to delicately remove the arrow embedded in my friend's shoulder. However, he cried out in sorrow when he saw Ana in my arms. He roughly pushed Luna out of the way and stood up.

"No, no, no..." Dorrian began in a broken voice, "Not Ana..."

"Dorrian! I need to remove the arrow that's currently in your shoulder, you dumbass!" Luna snapped as she pushed herself to her feet.

Dorrian snapped the arrow in half and winced in pain: "I'll live. Work on Ana-she needs help more than I do."

"Dorrian-."

"I don't have a fucking knife in my stomach!" He exploded, rounding on her: "Heal her before she bleeds out, god damn it!"

"Dorrian," I began calmly, "Luna didn't do anything, so you don't get to snap at her-she's the one trying to heal your dumb ass, so show her a little respect."

He sighed heavily, "I'm sorry. Just...heal her please."

Luna nodded, "Alright..."

I looked at my old friend: "Come on Dorrian. We need to find Nova."

"We heard the explosion." Luna began nervously, "Is she okay?"

"I'm not sure," I replied simply.

My wife's face fell, "God damn it...set Ana down before me, please. I'll have to remove her knife from her stomach before I could start repairing anything. Just...go get Nova please, and make sure Sylvia's okay. You told her to go with Nova, so I hope she wasn't injured..."

I quickly embraced her, "We'll be back love."
