The Baudelaires had brought a picnic blanket with them and laid it out on the beach. The Baudelaires and the Quagmires, which I had just learned was the triplets' last name, sat together catching up after being separated for so long. I felt a bit left out before I noticed that Quigley seemed left out too. Isadora and Klaus were laughing together about something, Sunny and little Beatrice were playing together in the sand, and I could tell that Violet and Duncan were in a deep conversation about who-knows-what. I scooted over closer to where he was sitting.

"Hey Quigley," I said.

"Oh, hey Elle," he responded.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Uh, I'm fine," he stuttered. I could tell that he wasn't fine and that he really didn't want to watch his siblings and friends leave him out.

"Do you want to take Beatrice and Sunny for a walk?" I offered.

"Yeah!" he accepted.

"Violet, do you mind if we take Beatrice and Sunny for a walk?" I asked her.

"Not at all! That's a great idea!" she grinned.

Quigley took Sunny's hand and I picked up Beatrice. We walked for about ten minutes and Sunny babbled the whole time. You could tell she was only first beginning to speak, her speech was a bit broken and squished together, but it was still understandable. She mostly spoke of random things, such as her siblings, things she likes, and cooking, but every once in a while she would say something familiar to me, and I began to wonder if somehow the Baudelaires and I had met before. I turned my head to smile at Quigley, but I realized he was already looking at me. He blushed a dark red and looked away. I smiled to myself and tilted my head downward, looking at my feet. We continued our walk until we were just out of sight from the rest of the gang.

"Do you think we should turn around and go back now?" Quigley suggested.

"That's probably a good idea," I said.

"You're right, that is a good idea," said a deep, male voice from behind us. Quigley, Sunny, and I jumped. I felt a large hand on my shoulder and from the corner of my eye, I could see Quigley shudder and another hand on his. We were both too scared to turn around. I pulled Beatrice closer to me and tried to protect her. Quigley held a tighter grip on Sunny's hand. We both looked at each other and nodded. At the same time, we began to scream.

"Violet, Duncan, Isadora, Klaus!" we screamed over and over again, hoping they would hear us. The hands moved from our shoulders to over our mouths. Sunny caught on to what was happening and began to scream as well. There was nothing the mysterious man could do to stop her, and from a distance, we could see Klaus, Isadora, Violet, and Duncan bolting over to us. All of a sudden a fifth, much taller figure emerged and grabbed the four of them. Through muffled screams, we tried to call out to one another. The man holding onto me and Quigley began to pull us with him. I could feel the hot tears running down my face, I looked over at Quigley and saw the tears streaming down his face as well.

What had originally been and was supposed to be the best day of my life had turned into the worst. When you become a part of a series of unfortunate events that's all it is. It's nothing but sadness and woes. I truly hope that none of you become of such an unfortunate tale as I did. As this story comes to a close, there are only a few things that I have to say. As Quigley, Sunny, Beatrice, and I were being pulled away we didn't know where we were going or if we would ever see Violet, Klaus, Isadora, and Duncan ever again. There was still much to this story to uncover, but now I wasn't sure if I would ever get the answers to my many questions. But, perhaps, this was only a bad beginning.

OKAY SO. I know that this is supposed to be "A Series of Fortunate Events" but I feel like the story will get boring if I don't put some unfortunate plot twists in it, so that's why I added this.
