You fiddled with your fingers and took inventory of your reflection. From time to time, you would blink your eyes, allowing your eyelashes to flutter like the wings of a butterfly. Indeed, your eyes were simply spellbinding. The stylist fixed your black curls and applied lipstick the colour of pomegranate on your soft cushion lips.

"You look beautiful,"commented the stylist.

You flashed a faint smile and grabbed the seam of your wedding dress which shrouded your body to walk over to the white and silver couch. Once you sat down, you released the lacy fabric and heaved a sigh. Every woman dreamt of having cream sheets of an exquisite dress slipped onto their shoulders and holding a bouquet of flowers entwined between their fingers but it wasn't the same for you.

You craned your head down to the bouquet and fiddled with it nervously not because you were afraid the wedding wouldn't go smoothly but in fact, you were worried about the outcomes if you exchanged your vows which came off as scripted without any genuine feelings for your partner. This marriage wasn't up to your choice.

A soft knock planted on the door and as it opened slightly, you saw Changkyun's head peering in the room. You wouldn't even want to call him your husband. He stepped inside and the stylist took notice of his presence. She bowed at him slightly and rushed out of the room to provide some privacy. He didn't watch her leave and instead, scrutinized you from head to toe as he approached closer to you.

You averted your eyes away from him, expecting him to shower you descriptive compliments since he worked as a composer. Throughout the time you spent with him, he treated you very nicely and was always impressed by your natural beauty but with added elegance of an expensive dress and graceful make-up and hairdo, you were simply divine. However, he didn't blurt out any admiration and instead knelt on one knee to meet your eyes.

"Can I ask you something?"

You blinked at him, gesturing him to continue speaking through your eyes.

"Do you really want to marry me?"

Your lips parted abit slightly. It was rather unexpected of him to blurt out a question which you would never imagined him to speak about. The duration of time spent with him was rather short, not even surpassing one month. The marriage preparation was rather hurried and a choice given by your parents. You had never gone against them because seeing their euphoric faces was rather the happiness you wanted. In short, you were a filial daughter.

"I just need a definite answer,"added Changkyun.

You scanned his face to decipher the emotion he was wearing. However, it was rather mixed. The fact that he asked you was a sign he was doubtful of himself and your behaviour towards him but if he had known, why waited until that important day? Your lips were sealed as you refused to speak up, averting your eyes away from him. It's not like you could change anything if you speak the truth. In a few minutes time, you will be walking down the aisle and exchanging vows.

"Is it that hard for you to say? I knew right from the start that there will be complications and gave you the time to stand up for yourself but how much longer do you need?"he bombarded questions, as if pestering you.

The grip on the bouquet tightened as you clenched your teeth, feeling the wet hot tears filling up in your eyes . It was all true. You never went against your parents' will because of the fear of disappointing them. They made tremendous effort and sacrifices to raise you up to where you are now so you thought that accepting their decisions could repay their love for you. In addition, you were rather a soft-hearted introvert who cared for people's feelings more than yourself. The pressure and burden was massive.
