Jake was sitting down on the other side of the fence. I sighed and opened the gate, sitting down next to him, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Autumn, go get Colby." He said. "Jake, I know you like me." I hesitantly replied. He looked mad, almost. "You weren't supposed to know." He snapped. "No, Jake, you've hugged me before. Never like the way you have the past few times. You actually listen to me." I looked at the road in front of us. "So what?" He asked. "I don't know. I've just known." I replied. He looked at the ground beneath us and nodded. I lifted my head from his shoulder when I realized the gate snapped shut. It was Colby. I immediately stood up, making sure he couldn't easily get to Jake. Colby looked upset. I instantly noticed that Colby had a camera.
"I'm going back home. Not for you, Autumn, but for me. It's for the best right now." He said. I panicked. "No, Colby, this is your home." I tried to convice him. He looked up at me. "Maybe it is, but I can't deal with this. We're moving anyways, all of us, I mean. Maybe its best for me to move back home, to Kansas." He said. Jake threw a pebble into the street. I took Colby's hand. "At least until you graduate." He said with a smile. I nodded and he went back inside. "Jake?" I asked him. "Yeah?" He asked looking up at me. "I'll be back in five months, but until then, don't miss me too much." I smiled. He smiled weakly and hugged me really tight. "I'll miss you." He said softly into my ear. His voice sounded like liquid gold when he did that. "I'll miss you too, Jakey." I said back.
We headed inside. Jake went back to his room, I headed to Colby's room. "We have to leave tomorrow, then. I need to get used to a sleep schedule and I need to buy new school supplies." I said to Colby. He nodded his head. Sam walked in. "Where are you two going?" He asked. "We have to leave for Kansas tomorrow." I said. "But you have three days left. It's only the fourth." Sam panicked a little. I looked up from my empty suit case. "I know, but we have to get settled in and I go to school on the seventh. Plus I have to get new school supplies from the store." I said, walking to him. He hugged me. I hugged him back. Colby grabbed his camera. "I'm not ready for you to leave yet." Sam said emotionally. "I don't want to leave, either, but when I graduate, I'll be right back here." I smiled and said to him. "Colby, get in here." Sam looked at Colby, who was smiling. We had a group hug then continued to pack.
"Hey, I'll take your stuff with me to my new house when we move, so when you get back, you still have it." Sam said as he helped Colby fold clothes. I put all my clothes, and some of Colby's, into my suitcase. I grabbed one of Colby's blankets and put it in my suit case, without him noticing. It was by far, my favorite blanket. It was blue with darker blue stripes, kind of like plad. It smelled like him, and it kept me warm. Sam quit and called a pizza place. We both took a break and laid on the bed. Colby still had his camera out. "I can't believe we're actually doing this." I said. "I could visit you in school." He said with a smile. "Only at lunch though." I smiled back. He nodded. "We can hang out after school and do your homework together!" He said excitedly again. "This might actually be fun." I said, smiling still. Colby put the camera down.
"Pizza!" I heard Corey yell up stairs. We ran down. Everyone ate downstairs and talked about us going back to kansas Colby sat pretty close, right next to me. Om the other side, was Jake. He wasn't close to me, though. I ate my pizza and went back upstairs to try and finish Colby's clothes. "Why the fuck does he have this much clothes?" I asked myself, confused. Someone knocked. I continued to fold his clothes. I looked up. It was Colby. He was just looking at me. I smiled and he joined me on the floor. "We have to be up at eight on the dot tomorrow morning. Our plane leaves at ten." I said to him. He nodded, "I know."
We eventually finished and collapsed on the bed. I sighed. "I'll miss LA." I said. "Me too, but we'll come back, right?" He asked. "Of course!" I said with a smile. He put down the camera and turned off the light. We immediately fell asleep.
*time skip*
We woke up at 8:30, thirty minutes behind schedule. Everyone else was up before us, though. I grabbed my charger and phone and put them both in my suit case. I double checked to make sure Colby had everything. We rushed downstairs and climbed into Sam's car. The other roomates drove their own cars. "Have my car keys. I won't have my car and everyone's moving out before we get back." Colby said, handing Sam his car keys. Sam nodded and took the keys. Colby recorded the windows.
We successfully got to the airport on time. They all walked us in, and walked as far as to security with us. We had to depart. Colby started to record again. I hugged Aaron, then Corey, then Kat and Devyn. They all said 'I'll miss you' or 'safe flight!'. I got to Sam and we hugged really tight. "I'll miss you, big bro." I said, almost crying. "I'll miss you too, Autumn." He said also in the same voice. "Have a safe flight. Text me as soon as you're off the plane!" He said. "I promise, I will." I replied. Next, was Jake. He hugged me softly. I wish he could have came with us, but that would have been a problem with him and Colby. Sam and Colby hugged for a while and exchanged very few words. Then, colby shook hands with Jake. "It's been one hell of a ride!" I yelled back to them. They all laughed, including Colby. "I'll miss you all!" Colby yelled, then turned off the camera. We walked through security and got on the plane.
We got a window seat and Colby recorded take off. I leaned on his shoulder and accidently fell asleep. I woke up, though, to Colby vlogging. My head was still on his shoulder. I lifted my head. "Good morning. We're still on the plane." He said with a smile then kissed my forehead. I sighed. He continued with his vlog. I saw the snack cart go by and bought some skittles to share with Colby. We fell asleep and I woke up again to Colby recording the window. We were going down. "Are we in Kansas?" I asked. "You know it!" He said, smiling. I got excited and we touched ground.
We got our suit cases and walked outside the airport. I immediately called Sam, but got voice mail. "Hey, Sam, uh, we landed. And were safe. Our uber just got here. I have to go. Bye!" I said, hanging up and getting in the Uber. After a fourty five minute drive, we reached my house. I took Colby's hand and walked inside. NOT realizing, untill then, how much I would actually miss the Trap House.
