The Light of Friends

                                    

                                          


                          
The cold breeze made the flags on the Fairy Tail guild hall stand out in full glory. A new morning of sunshine brought new hope to the members within as they waited to see if Lucy would live or die. Natsu rubbed his tired eyes and looked around the guild library. Everyone had stayed the night and were all still asleep. Well everyone except for him and Porlyusica. The unwelcome feeling of fear crept into Natsu's heart as he looked down at Lucy. Glancing away from Porlyusica he allowed a loan tear to stream down his face.
                          
Natsu fisted his hands by his side and ground his teeth. I am not giving up on her! Natsu thought to himself. Not ever! Luucccy you need to wake up because I...I can't imagine living in this world without you, Natsu whispered to her. Your smile is my sun. Natsu said with a heartfelt sigh. It is past dawn Porlyusica. Why is Lucy still so motionless? Natsu asked with dread as he absentmindedly wiped the tear from his face. 
                          
Lucy tried to stay calm. Her world was a dark form of black and swirling greys. Where was the light? Why could she not pull herself from the nightmare she found herself in? Lucy sensed her friends all around her. Felt their worry and compassion they had for her. I must fight and win against this foe that holds me down, Lucy said to herself. I will prevail she exclaimed in her mind. 
                          
Lucy struggled to wake up. She was going to make it to that pen point of golden light just ahead of her she knew lead her back to her friends...back to Natsu. Her friends were the light. With all her determination Lucy focused all her magic and strength into one objective that of opening her eyes. 
                          
A small movement caught Natsu's attention in the dimly lit library. Na...Natsu? Lucy groaned with a tiny whisper as she opened her eyes. Lucy! Natsu exclaimed with a gasp as he jumped from his chair knocking it over. You're awake! I am sooo thirsty! Lucy whispered. Can you please bring me some water? Yeah sure thing! Guys wake up! Lucy is going to be ok! Natsu bellowed to everyone. Everyone jumped to their feet with smiles on their faces and great cheers rang throughout the guild.
                          
Lady Porlyusica helped Lucy to sit up in the library bed. Drink some more of this medicine my dear she told Lucy with a smile. It taste so terrible Porlyusica! Lucy grumbled. Porlyusica laughed. No medicine that ever truly works taste good my dear. I guess you're right, Lucy weakly laughed. Let's take a look at your leg my child. Porlyusica pulled down her covers to reveal Lucy's leg completely back to normal. I'm healed! Thank you so much lady Porlyusica! You're welcome child. 
                          
I don't think you will be at your normal strength for at least a day. Try to walk on your leg Lucy. Natsu said with a smile. Yeah ok no problem. Lucy said with a small grin. Lucy carefully placed her feet on the cold stone floor of the library and stood up. Natsu went to help her but she held up her hand to stop him. Slowly she started to walk around a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. Look Porlyusica I'm perfectly fine! Lucy said with pride. Thank you again so much for your help she said with a wide grin.
                          
Lucy looked around her at all her friends as she tried to keep the tears building in her eyes from showing. They never gave up on her, she thought to herself. They had kept hope alive and she had won her battle. Halfway across the room Lucy realized she may be healed but she was completely drained of magic and energy as her smile faded and she started to sway. Na...Natsu Lucy whispered softly as she closed her eyes. Natsu caught her before she hit the floor. 
                          
Whoa I thought she was better Porlyusica? Natsu grumbled. She is weak you idiot her magic has been fighting the poison in her body. She will need time to restore her supply. She needs plenty of rest today she told Natsu. Natsu carried Lucy back to the small bed and carefully laid her back down as he tried to hide a big yawn. 
                          
Go get some rest Natsu. Juvia and I will watch over Lucy for a while, Gray said. Hey thanks man! Natsu said with a grin. Oh by the way I know your secret Natsu. I have great hearing Gray whispered with a smirk on his face. 
                          
Huh what are you talking about Iceman? Natsu nervously asked Gray with a laugh. Natsu looked everywhere but into Gray's eyes. Gray laughed. We will save that for another day man. Uh ok. Natsu said with a huge grin. Be back later Icebrain, Natsu yelled behind him to Gray as he walked to his small home in the woods.
                          
***Seems Lucy and her determination to stay with those she loves has aided her in her very survival. Can the guild stop this evil man before he actually succeeds in accomplishing his goal of destroying his niece.
