[ Minji's P.O.V ]

I think I'm going to throw up.

I can feel my heart beating heavily, and every pump of blood sends physical waves of panic through me. I don't know how to explain the feeling other than absolute terror in every possible form it can take in your body.

It's pitch black, in the middle of the night.

All my trustworthy allies are either missing or dead.

My only ally left just murdered Chaeyoung.

And now he's being held captive by someone whose voice I've definitely never heard before tonight.

I think this is the most petrified I've ever been.

Not knowing what else to do and feeling significantly more vulnerable on the ground, I grip my knife in my hand and slowly begin to rise to my feet, hoping to go undetected.

Unfortunately, my plan fails.

I can hear Hwiyoung's breath hitch, another panicked gasp escape his mouth, and I freeze in my place.

"I meant what I said, Minji," the same voice repeats, with an oddly playful edge to it, "If you don't want your last ally's throat slit then I suggest you stay where you are."

I sniffle slightly, trying to hold myself together and not go into utter panic mode. I try my best to form a plan in my head by thinking about what one of the careers would do, if there still were any. I can't run - that's too loud. He will follow the footsteps and catch me. I have a knife, and his is pointed at Hwiyoung. If I can get behind him without him noticing, I'll have all the leverage. The worst that can happen is that I lose Hwiyoung, which wouldn't be all that bad. I just have to keep him talking so he can't hear me.

"Who are you?" I call out blindly in my best guess at the direction the person is standing, my voice audibly trembling.

"Who am I?" The boy asks, laughing. As unnerving as that is, I take advantage of this opportunity and slowly rise to my feet from my awkward squatting position, and he doesn't seem to notice. I start to creep closer to him in a diagonal line, but I can only make it about two steps before the laughter stops. "I-I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude, I just find it funny how well I know you, when you and your allies were too dumb to know me."

What is he talking about??

"Jeon Jungkook," he continues," "District 4. Pleasure to meet you."

I can feel my stomach drop at his words. Districts 3 and 4 scored incredibly high, and Jungkook scored the highest - they're known as the second career pack, except without official training.

"I-I'd introduce myself, but you already know my name," I mumble, turning my head away from him as I speak so he can't detect how close my voice is getting.

Jungkook chuckles again.

"I know a lot more about you than your name."

I concentrate on keeping my footsteps quiet and my voice as calm as possible.

"Oh, really? L-Like what?"

"I know that you allianced with the career pack. Because Jisung took pity on you. I know you guys kissed in the forest when you were supposed to be hunting,"

I freeze in my tracks, all the hairs on my neck perking up.

"H-How do you know that?"

Instead of answering me, Jungkook opts to continue his unsettling list of things he knows about me.
