"What do you call this one?" Jesy asked on Leigh's bed after their snack. She felt filled. Leigh had poured her drink after they had eaten. She was holding up one of Leigh's plush toys.
Leigh smiled. "His name is Jumpy." She and Jesy were cross legged and face to face. That was her bunny. Her favourite after Dr Weasel. She was stroking the doctor on her lap at the moment. "D'you wanna know why I call him that?
"Because he's a rabbit?" Jesy was making it hop up and down.
"No." Leigh found this fun. No one ever asked about her plush toys which she had close relationships with. Everyone just scolded her for playing with them.
"Hmm . . ." Jesy shrugged. "Pass." She put that one down and took up a giraffe with long eyelashes.
"Hey. You were supposed to guess more." Leigh-Anne picked up Jumpy. "I call him Jumpy because he gets scared easily." She hugged Jumpy and Dr Weasel The Ferret.
Jesy watched how cuddly she got then hugged the giraffe. "Soft." It was pretty small compared to Dr Weasel though. He was life sized. "What's her name?"
"Her name is Long Legs. You can guess why I call her that." She stroked the giraffe. "So you like her?"
Jesy nodded. "I do but I'd rather a bigger one that I can squeeze to hold right now."
Leigh instantly started searching for a bigger one on her bed. "Oh look." She handed Jesy her stuffed duck which was close in size to Dr Weasel The Ferret. "He's super cuddly."
Jesy watched it and shook her head. She looked at a particular bear and took it. It was brown and squishy. "I like this one." She smiled feeling ready to curl up and sleep.
Leigh nodded. "Okay. His name is Browns." She was really happy that her toys could make someone else happy. It usually brought frustration to most people.
Jesy yawned in that moment. "Browns. It's easier to say than . . . than Dr Weasel the smrmemre . . ." Her eyes were closing with her chin on the bear's head.
Leigh-Anne wondered something. "How did you sleep last night Jesy?"
"Not too bad. I was just a bit cramped but that's normal." Jesy smacked her lips a bit as her eyes closed.
"Why is that normal?" Leigh-Anne was frowning.
Jesy waved her off. "Don't worry about it Ferret-girl."
Leigh frowned again. "Don't call me that." She watched how Jesy seemed to be dozing off. Maybe she didn't sleep well at all. "Jesy?"
"Mm?"
"Before you sleep you should change into more comfy clothes." Leigh got up and went to her drawer. She pulled out a T-shirt with a big smiling teddy bear holding a heart on it and then got shorts that matched. The outfit was pink. "Here."
Jesy took one look at it and cringed. "Come on Leigh. I can't wear that. Mmm." She shook up herself.
"Why? Just put it on." Leigh wanted her to be comfortable before sleeping.
Jesy sighed then got up. She took the clothes and put them on the bed then proceeded to change.
Leigh was not sure if she should watch. Was she being rude? She felt awkward.
Jesy was only in her underwear as she stretched now. "Enjoying the view are we?" She asked Leigh with a sleepy smirk.
Leigh-Anne blushed. "I like your training bra." She mumbled wishing that she could show Jesy that she was wearing one too.
