He must have been somewhat listening because he had paid enough attention to realize when you were done trying to explain yourself, but he only pushed it off with a simple, "Whatever."

Ouch. Well, maybe you kinda deserved that. But seriously? You look over to the other side of the room and see Jimin with his partner. His partner was blushing like crazy as he finished saying something and topping it off with a flirtatious smirk, so they seem to be getting along well. And apparently, according to Mina, Taehyung is flirty and amiable as well. So why did you get stuck with the stick-in-the-mud? The thought frustrates you as you try your best to work with Jungkook on the project for the rest of the awkward class, but he doesn't seem to want to cooperate, so you just end up watching for most of the time.

Needless to say, the rest of the school day was bland. You had gotten to lunch where you get to spend some much needed social time with Mina and your other friends. You decided not to mention anything to Mina about what happened that morning, fearing she might think you had purposely upset Jungkook to try to get out of spending the weekend with them. Although, you would not be upset if that were an outcome of today's events. At the same time though, you really hope that Jungkook won't hold a grudge, because although you don't necessarily like him, you still don't like when you upset others. You start to think that chances of him holding a grudge are getting higher, however, when you saw him in P.E. later and he still seemed to not want to talk to you. By the end of the day, though, you decide not to worry and instead let whatever happens happen.

Immediately after school you drive back to the cafe for work again. The usual rush following school ensued pretty smoothly and once it finally finished you give yourself a moment to breathe. As soon as you think no one else is entering the cafe to order, you head to the back to check your phone and get a drink of water. As soon as you arrive however, you hear the bells on the front door chime, signaling another costumer. You rush back to the front and see a familiar face walking through the door, one that at first makes you want to walk straight back into the back room and never return to the counter. It's Jungkook. When is it not him? you think to yourself jokingly. You only thought of it as a half joke though because the more you thought about it, the truer it seemed. He always seemed to coincidentally be around. As much as you wished not to, you knew you had a job to do, so you greeted him with a forced smile as he walked up to the counter. "Hi, what can I get you?"

"Just a caramel macchiato." You relax at his seemingly casual attitude, a complete turn-around from his attitude throughout the day today. You turn your back to him to start making the drink, but you hear him say something from behind you. "You know, I guess I just didn't peg you as a barista kind of girl." You're confused by his words at first and then realize that he was referring to what you said to him that morning. Your initial reaction is to stiffen, thinking he wants to start something, but you turn to him and see that he's actually laughing at the joke he had made. This causes you to relax as you assume that this means he isn't mad about it anymore. "Sorry about getting pissed off this morning. You looked exhausted, I should've known that you didn't really mean what you said. Honestly, I'm really not very into studies and stuff so I don't know why I got so upset like that."

"Yeah, I really didn't mean it! I swear I'm not a rude person, I'm just sort of..." You pause and rack your brain for the word you are looking for.

"Awkward?" You wince a bit at the cold, hard truth, but Jungkook quickly continues with a laugh. "It's alright, I am too." You both share a laugh at your mutual gracelessness that shows through every once in a while. You realize that this is the first real conversation you'd had with him since you met him, and you think that maybe you should rethink your immediate hesitance around him. You couldn't help but let your gaze linger on the smile that you just now become acquainted with. It gave a completely different feel from the first impression you had of him. It gave a child-like and innocent warmth. The way his teeth showed and his nose scrunched up a bit reminded you of a bunny. You found it a bit endearing, actually.
