"This isn't right." I told my brother Josh.

"What? Making 24 kids fight to the death in a limit of two weeks? Eh. I don't see what's wrong with it." He said obviously being sarcastic. My older sister Brooke was pulled last year, when hear best friend, May, who was actually tough, volunteered for her because she knew Brooke would never make it. She ended up dying with in the first week of the games. I remember Brooke wouldn't come out of her room for two months. Only to take a bath and to go to school and eat. We were on our way to the reeping. We had to sit through this boring video about war and his the Games were better. Plutarch, the person that pulls the names every year walked onto the stage.

"Well, well. This shall be an interesting year, due to what happened last year." She said. She was referring to Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mallark. The two who were to in love to kill each other.

"Let's start with the boys this year now shall we?"

She walked over to the bowl and pulled out a name. It was his.

"Joshua Hyland."

No! I started crying. He couldn't make it. Sure he was tough, but I had watched the other districts on the television this morning and compared to them, he was nothing! He walked onto the stage.

"Now, for the girls!" She cheered.

"Paige Hyland." She said.

Not me. Not him. Not either of us. It's both of us! This can't be happening! Me and my brother both. This can't be happening! I stopped crying to make sure I looked tough. I wouldn't make it.

"Well, would you look at that? Two siblings! Oh, this is going to be interesting!" She yelled.

She lead us back into different rooms.

"Wait. Why isn't my brother with me?!" I asked. They just ignored me and walked out. Brooke burst into the room crying her eyes out.

"Paige." She whispered, running to hug me.

"It's not fair! Me and Josh?! Why?!" I yelled.

"I don't know. But what I do know is that you can win this. Win this for me. Make sure you're not the one to kill Josh if he does. Ok?"

"Ok." I said. "I love you so much!"

"I love you!"

"Ok! Times up!" The guard yelled pulling Brooke out of the room.
