Mikey just straight up takes you into the lair. You haven't played video games or tried pizza up until now.
"Mikey, where are you taking me?" I questioned. The turtle in orange shook his head, continuing down the alleyway. The smile on his face never left, but I was too confused to consider it.
"You'll see dudette. Check it out!" I clung onto the orange banded turtle for dear life as he suddenly bent down to lift a manhole cover.
He jumped down the hole with ease, the cover falling back in place just as he touched the ground. I could feel his heartbeat through the skin of his neck, which my arms were tightly hanging around.
Mikey carefully reach up to loosen my grip as he walked along the dark sewer tunnels. I moved one of my hands in front of his face, making a question mark out of my hand. He shook his head and pushed my hand away, smiling. I frowned, but regardless I waited for whatever the heck Mikey was so excited to show off this time."So there's no need to worry. My brothers are doing their own thing and Splinter is waaayy into his meditation right now."
I nodded, not fully understanding what that had to do with anything. It stunk really bad, and there were rats and bugs that scattered away everywhere I looked. Green goo sat on top of the stilled water, and green slime grew on the tunnel walls. It was gross.
Eventually, we ended up in a wide spaced room. I looked around once Mikey places me on the ground. "Master S- should- so-" as Mikey spoke, the screeching in my ear became too intense to handle. I grabbed the aid from my ear as quick as I could, holding the ear that throbbed from such loudness. I tried to read the orange turtles lips, but they moved fast.
"Mikey," I wasn't sure how loud I was, but the sound of his name made him watch me closely. I held the aid to him, shrugging as a sign I didn't catch anything he'd said. The turtle looked around and gently grabbed my arm, moving me around the room and motioning to objects. The silly guy made a show out of it and did the whole walk-around and touch dramatically to show it off. Whenever he did, I would laugh.
Again, I wasn't sure how loud, but I could see him light up and continue what was making me happy... kind of a mistake. We were in what he signed as a DoJo. From the weapons in the room, I supposed he used the room for training purposes. He was making silly faces and slinging his "chucks of fury" around, striking funny poses as I laughed. I was still mid-laugh when Mikey stood in attention, weapon behind his back and a look of shock on his features. I eyed him, stopping my laugh immediately. What was wrong?
With a slow turn, I was met with a mutated rat, staring back at me from the doorway of a room I hadn't noticed a few feet away. From the look he gave, shivers ran all over me.
Oh boy, we were in trouble.
